Has anyone been to the tea at the Grand Floridian. I am thinking of taking my daughter after doing the bibbidi bobbidi boutique at the Magic Kingdom. My son and husband will go do another park or if warm enough a water park as we are going at the end of January. Do I need to make reservations for this at this time of year?

I did this with friends last February and LOVED it!!! What a great outting for a Mom and daughter. :goodvibes (I have 2 boys, so the tea with my kids was not an option...) I really liked the finger sandwiches, scones and tarts - all were really yummy! One of the friends I went to the tea with is taking her granddaughter to BBB at the castle then to the tea this July and she can't wait. I will definately do this again!!!

I was also wondering about this I would love to check this out with my brother and sister while DH and DS's are napping!!! Did you get the package or did you go a la carte? Thanks, ....what tea did you get?

My DD (13) & I went in August & we did have an ADR for 2pm, but honestly there were about 3 other tables occupied by the time we were done. That being said, I heard the Maitre D' ask someone that approached the podium for the name on the reservation & the lady replied that she didn't have one, so he said, "One moment, let me see what I can do." So what's my point? :confused3  I guess that even if they didn't LOOK busy, they may have had quite a few ADRs for 3pm & the tea room is small. I think you are better off having an ADR so you are not disappointed that you couldn't get in. ;)

My DD & I had lunch about an hour before tea so we weren't too hungry. She just ordered a coke & a couple of pastries. I was just going to order the finger sandwiches, but then I didn't want to miss out on the scones & I thought, "gee those pastries sure look good" so I ended up ordering the Grand Tea since it was less expensive then ordering everything a la carte & you get a glass of champagne so why not...right? :rolleyes1 My DD kept stealing my sandwiches so I didn't eat too much of that, but the scone was so soft & moist & then when you add the clotted cream & raspberry jam....it was pure heaven! :cloud9:

As soon as we sat down my DD dropped her tea cup & clattered onto her saucer & what a noise it made! The waitress was so nice & welcoming & she just laughed & said, "Don't worry honey, I do that every day!" They are not stuffy at all & my DD had a blast. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

I would recommend making an ADR for Afternoon Tea. There is a wide variety of "tea food" offered. Don't think you have to order the sandwich combos, since you can order al carte. There is also some kid offerings too...they do not have to drink tea (not sure of the age of your daughter). Our little girls loved Afternoon Tea...not sure exactly why, but I would speculate that it made them feel like a 'big person,' plus our little girls love tea parties. The picture we got are priceless...I love the picture of our oldest taking a drink out of a tea cup (chocolate milk) and from the viewable expression of her face (eyes) you can tell she has one of the biggest smiles behind the tea cup.

If you have a Princess you are taking to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique the Afternoon Tea will be perfect for her too.

Thanks everyone - sounds like alot of fun. Our daughter is 6 and we will be doing Bibbidi bobbidi boutique at the Magic Kingdom at 10:20. I think she will love it and I hope to get alot of pictures at the boutique and the tea. Thanks again!
