Just talked DH into doing this for the first time on our April trip, thought it would be a nice relaxing thing to do.

What are your experiences with it? Worth the $25.50 per person? I thought we could skip lunch and have a later dinner on this day.

We always do a family tea while at WDW. Our family drinks a ton of tea at home so we have made the afternoon tea at the Garden View Tea Room a trip tradition. Let your DH know it will be fun......I love tea with my DW and three DD's.

I am not sure where you got your pricing, but there is no set price; you can order one of the "complete" tea services or you can order a la carte.

Thank you so much for the info and the pictures. I got the pricing off of allearsnet but maybe that was too outdated? So each item is ala carte? So we can get as little or as much as we like? How much and what is a complete tea service?

DH and I loved doing the GF tea. We each did a complete tea service called the Buckingham. It consisted of a pot of tea, a plate of tea sandwiches, a scone and a jam tart, then the last course you either got to pick two little pastries or got a big bowl of strawberries and fresh cream. I think it was $20 a person for this service. There are a few others and allears has them listed on the menu. DH now keeps asking when can we do it again. You can do a la carte and just pick and choose what you want off of the menu but we wanted to go all out since it was a special trip.

If we do not want that wine that comes with the grand tea will the price go down? We are not wine drinkers.

The tea is so much fun! It's cheaper in most cases to get one of the set menus - tea alone is $5.95, but you can get a nice set of food plus tea for between 25-13 dollars.
My two favorites are the buckingham and the sally lunn.
If you do go with the sally lunn tea, be sure to get a side of scones too!
Tea is a must do for me every trip.

If you don't want the wine I would suggest the Buckingham Palace tea where you get much of the same stuff only not the wine.

I would go there only for the English China. :rotfl:
I also collected it for years and its keeps his beauty.

I got a complete tea service with wine also, but I don't drink either. I had them replace the wine with a glass of sparkling apple juice and that made me happy.......I do not recall if they adjusted the price though.

Great! Thanks so much, I am really looking forward to this

I would definitely recommend the tea at Grand Floridian, and yes, if you order one of the set menus, it is quite a filling meal.

I have had the Grand Tea and the Prince Edward's tea. I thorougly enjoyed the glass of sparkling Domaine St. Michelle that came with the Grand Tea, but if you are not a wine drinker, I bet the restaurant would substitute a non-alcohlic beverage (soda, fruit juice) if you asked. Tea is included, of course.

The setting is lovely, with large some cushy couches and banquettes as well as regular dining chairs and a view of the grounds through large well-cleaned windows. At certain times in the afternoon, diners can hear the tinkling piano player in the lobby.

This is an experience to be savored, and the first time I went it appeared our waitress seemed in a hurry to leave, which was unfortunate. However, the food and setting were so impressive, I went back on a second trip, had a more genteel server:bride: and now I can't wait to return again.

Is there a dress code or can we go in nice shorts and collared shirts?

No dress code. Shorts and tshirts are fine. We always go straight from the parks.

The tea is AWESOME and I highly recommend it. I always order the Buckingham. It comes with plenty of treats and with so much food it can definitely be a substitute for lunch. I think we always order an extra cheese plate too.

Enjoy!!!
