My reservation reads Grand Floridian 2BR/3B suite, Lodge Room. What/where is a Lodge Room? Where can I find definitive descriptions of all suites located at the GF? What is the meaning of CM and PS Services? Best tips on getting suite at GF with Magic Kindgom view, please.

We got back YESTERDAY from the Grand Floridian, and stayed in a 2BR lodge suite. By lodge, they mean your suite will not be in the main building--which is a GOOD thing! We were in SugarLoaf lodge, and very happy with it...there were so many people in the main building, it was very busy and noisy, plus they had live bands, christmas carolers, etc etc. The outer buildings are so much quieter, more calm and relaxing--and just as beautiful.

We absolutely loved our stay. With the suite you do get concierge service (continental breakfast, snacks throughout day and evening hors d'oeuvres), we were not incredibly impressed with the concierge staff. They made us wait 2 HOURS to get into our suite--the first concierge promised 15 minutes, when we went back to check with her 45 min later, she was off duty, and her replacement said one more hour, and gave me some lame excuse about the previous guest "trashing" the room. We were not happy--had two tired kids with ear infecitons who needed naps. But once we did get in the suite, we were very happy, and the service overall was wonderful.

The suite is layed out as follows: you walk into the main room which has sofa, two chairs, and a table with four chairs, as well as tv. Off each side of the main room is a bedroom--one with two double beds, the other with a king bed. Each bedroom, and the living room, has a full bathroom with double sinks, tub, shower, toilet. We had a party of 9--and didn't feel crowded at all. It was perfect.

CM means cast member (which refers to any Disney employee) and PS means Priority Seating (which is basically the same thing as a dinner reservation). The suite concierge staff can help you make your Priority Seatings, and can assist you with whatever else you need.

As far as magic kingdom view, I wouldn't worry about it too much--we could see Cinderella's castle by stretching over the balcony and looking faaaarrrr to the right...but when it came time for fireworks, there are a ton of places to see them from the Grand Floridian (we watched from the boat dock and from the marina, you could watch from just about anywhere). Our room faced the marina and the view was great--I think with a suite, you can't get a bad room.

You can always call the GF and ask them specifically which building and suite you'll be in, and then you can check www.allearsnet.com for photos of everything.

Have a great trip!

Thank you so much for your informative comments. I feel more at ease with my current reservation. You see, this is a family trip I promised to my second granddaughter as soon as she was at least five years old. I took her older sister (8) to DW w/cruise when she was four............just the two of us. Great experience! This time, because of the difference in ages and, therefore, interests, the whole family is coming along - my daughter, son-in-law, son, and the little girls. This trip is a much anticipated fulfillment of a promise from Grand Mere (me), and my gift to the family. Perhaps you can understand why I want it to be perfect.

Again, thanks for your input. I will stop worrying!

I can certainly understand why you want it to be perfect--we had the same situation. My father treated all of us to the trip, and wanted it to be first class all the way. It was the only family trip we've ever taken with grandpa and all 4 grandkids, the first time the kids have been to Disney, so it was very special--we'll never forget it!

I think going in style is the way to do it--i'm sure you'll give your grandchildren wonderful memories--they will love the Grand Floridian, the monorail, and all the parks. Have a great time!

I have stayed in two different two-bedroom suites at the Grand Floridian. Both suites were located in Conch Key. I have a few photos of one of the suites in my on-line photo album:
Parlor Room
Master Bedroom
Second Bedroom

My family really enjoys the GF. It's the first resort that we ever stayed in, and we began our love of WDW there. We stayed there most recently at the end of October.

I hope you have a wonderful stay at the Grand Floridian.
