We are staying at the GF in Jan2015.. wondering if anyone has been to the new spa?? What services did you receive and will you return?:confused3

My sister recently visited the Senses Spa at the Grand Floridian, and she was in absolute heaven. I can't remember what treatment she had, but she told me that the experience was life changing and that it's the best spa visit she has ever had.

A month prior, she had visited the Senses Spa on the Disney Fantasy (which was her best cruise ship spa experience), but she said that she really didn't understand the theme until she visited at the Grand Floridian. It was a journey through the seven senses, and you do different things throughout the visit to activate a certain sense. This was something that they didn't emphasize on the Fantasy.

Another thing she enjoyed about her Grand Floridian Spa visit was that they didn't try to sell her a product. On the cruise ships, they are always finding things wrong with you and pushing you to buy things. They'll even write you a "prescription" for different products they sell. It can really take away from what's supposed to be a relaxing experience. She was grateful that there was never even a mention of products they had for sell while she was at the GF spa.

I will ask her more about her spa visit later, but one piece of advice that she did give me was that she learned through research beforehand to bring a bathing suit. When you purchase any treatment, you have access to their whirlpools and rainforest relaxation room for the rest of the day. She enjoyed spending extra time after her treatment to enjoy the facilities and was glad that she had brought a swimsuit.

I've been to the Senses Spa at the GF 3 times since it has re-opened and let me tell you it is an incredible experience! I do recommend bringing a bathing suit as there is a jacuzzi available for your use as well has a zero gravity hot stone chair that you lay on and it simply takes away all the pressure from your body. As far as the spa treatments go (I've only ever had massages) but you do follow a journey through your senses and it is truly amazing. I don't want to give away all the details, but you certainly get what you pay for and it is a wonderful break from a busy Disney vacation. If you have any more specific questions feel free to ask!

Thank you for all the information.. We are so excited! We have been to Disney many times but got caught up in the hustle and bustle of Disney. This trip, we are planning to slow down and enjoy more than the parks and rides.. :woohoo:

You should def go and enjoy the spa! I second what the people above said- the heated chairs in the sauna/jacuzzi area are heavenly!

My daughters and I did the GF spa last August for pedicures...and oh my did we have a fabulous time!!!! We donned robes and comfy sandals, enjoyed fruit infused water and zucchini muffins, and relaxed in comfy chairs. Our pedi's lasted 50mins, and they were able to do all four of us at the same time, which doesn't happen at the little nail salon near where we live!!!! We were welcome to use all of the spa's amenities like the hot tub, sauna, etc. We were able to use their showers, as well as things like hair straighteners, anti-humidity hair spray, etc., before we headed out to meet my husband and son for the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. It was a fabulous day spent relaxing and enjoying each other's company.

We enjoyed it so much we'll be there again this coming Saturday on our trip!!!!! It was our Christmas gift to each other. :)

Had anyone gotten one of their sports massages? I am thinking of booking one, but I have never had a massage before. I am participating in the Glass Slipper Challenge in February and having a massage after that's all over just sounds so soothing.

If you've never had one maybe the massages they offer at the fitting line would be better? I haven't actually gotten a massage at GF but a friend of mine works there and I've gotten massages from her and they are top notch.

The GF spa is an awesome experience. Can't comment on the sports in in particular, but the Swedish wonderful.
