I posted this in a different thread, but we did a split stay between BCV and VGF this past April during a very low crowd time. People always talk about how chaotic Stormalong Bay is, but it was not crowded at all and super easy to find chairs in the afternoon. VGF’s pool with a slide was always packed and very difficult to find even one chair. Part of this may be the chair set up stinks at VGFs main pool and the pool is just smaller than Beach Club’s, but part of me also wonders if the wrist bands and tight control over Stormalong Bay helped. I’m pretty sure we didn’t even need to use our magic bands to get into the pool at VGF.
I know you’re a big West Coast
DVC fan, and I appreciate that VGC and VDH both require wristbands and check reservations to use the pool. I think Poly and VGF need to start doing the same. Social media makes it way too easy for little “tips and tricks” to be shared, and it doesn’t take that many non-guest families to make the pools feel more crowded.
