Expensive and so not worth it. $85 haircut only.

I should have opened my mouth instead of sitting silently.

The place was completely empty and nothing to look at. I had an appointment and no one came in as I was leaving. The stylist couldn't start and finish fast enough. She did not want to take time to see what I wanted, no looking at photos. Thank goodness my hair grows like a weed!

I had my hair curled for my vow renewals there and they did a lovely job with my hair and my daughters. They were very nice and did not rush me and checked everything was ok. Sorry you had a bad experience. Did you ask them specifically for anything ?

Sorry you had a bad time there.:(

My daughter had her hair braided there last year and they were sooo nice to her and did a fabulous job. It was expensive but it lasted a long time and what the heck...we were on vacation. It's not our usual salon. We are going back this July to have it done again.:thumbsup2

I have learned not to walk out of any salon unhappy. Most stylists want you to leave happy....did you let the lady know how you felt about the finished product?

I have my hair done there almost every trip and have always been pleased. My DD had a great haircut there about a year ago, used to have braids done when she was younger, etc.. I'm sorry you weren't pleased. I think the regulars there do a great job.

It is more expensive than in our area but I know that going in. It may be a bargain for someone from NYC.

;)
Sorry to hear this!
I was pleased with the look I got for our rehearsal dinner at Narcoosees...felt pampered...i would have said something...maybe next time:goodvibes

I was just there on Friday, May 23, 2008, and the stylist, Connie, was wonderful.

I just needed a trim and thinning and she did an excellent job.

She even sang to me. Very cute.

oh to bad you did not like it there, i saw several people getting their hair done when we were there, seemed like a very busy place.

To posters who's kids got braids....did they get corn row type braids? how much did the braids got for? my dd wanted some but I did not know they did it there.

I've just booked myself and my two bridesmaids into the salon to have our hair put up in November. I was a little worried as i haven't been there before and had any recommendations. My bridesmaids are 16 and 9 so i'm hoping their be able to help with some styles

Has anyone had there hair done up and was your style exactly what you wanted?

Whats the salon itself like?

Thanks :wizard:

I believe it was $50 or $60 and I tipped big because the lady was sooo nice and did a great job.:rotfl: Yep, the corn row type. You need to make an appointment and it takes a while but it's a nice doo for summer....vs the sticky stiff BBB.:rotfl2:

:)

I've got appts. for spa pedicures for my DD and I. Has anyone had these before and was it worth it?

You're not kidding. It routinely runs me about $115 bucks for a cut and style at my salon in NYC. 85 bucks would be a bargin.

My partner, had a spa pedi and a mani and they did a fabulous job. I believe it was $110.00. I might be wrong on that but I thnk that's what it was.

They gave her the nail polish and all the accroutrements they used.

The salon doesn't do those. Manicures and pedicures are done at the Spa which is a freestanding building past the tennis courts.

Yes, I was told they were $55 a piece. So they GAVE you the nail polish also? That's an unexpected perk.

You know, after I hit the "post reply" button yesterday, I realized this thread was about the salon and not the spa. Oh well - was nice to see I got a response to my question though!:)
