Greetings fellow Disney fans! Hubby and I are planning a trip for just the two of us in late xxxxxxxxx and will be renting DVC points. We love Magic Kingdom and have narrowed it down to these two. I absolutely think the new GF resort studios are to die for. One thing that has me concerned however are the reports of noise between the rooms in the BPK building. Is it really as bad as they say or is it possibly overly sensitive guests? If it makes a difference, I am interested in splurging on a Lagoon view - it looks like your room is directly over the water from inside the room.

As an alternative if it really is that bad, I'm considering a standard view Poly DVC studio as well. The water view in this one doesn't seem worth since it's now blocked by the bungalows and while not as striking as BPK Lagoon view, the tropical oasis garden views around the property look really relaxing. It's also looks like it will be over $500 cheaper for the duration of our 6 night stay. I also know the Poly has a slight location advantage with being walking distance to the TTC for Epcot days.

As a third option, I am aware of the deluxe studios in the VGF1 building which are known to be quieter. However those rooms seem kind of cramped with very little storage. I'm not impressed by the split bathroom since you still only have one sink. I shower at night, and DH showers in the morning so two showers isn't really a perk. I'd rather have the dual sinks the resort studios provide. At least the split bathroom at the Poly has two sinks and is a larger room overall. I also like the location in the resort of BPK better than VGF, and the rooms are far larger with more storage.

Still, it has always been both our dream of ours to stay at the GF on a WDW vacation and we now can make it happen. We both like the aesthetics of the RS GF over the DS Poly room, and don't mind splurging the extra money on the GF if the noise issue isn't going to tank our vacation. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

i stayed in a lagoon view in feb. it is overlooking the lagoon poly side. lots i\of construction in that direction. very nice room close to main lobby area and pools.

Thanks for the reply. Since our trip isn’t until xxxxxx, I have fingers crossed the Poly tower construction will be finished, along with most of the GF refurbishments. How was the noise between rooms?

We stayed in BPK last year and had no sound issues. I think it is really dependent on who your neighbors are. If we were staying in a studio again at GF we would stay at BPK again in a heartbeat.

That’s wonderful news, thank you! I know the big discussion right now is the construction around the resort, but I have fingers crossed it’ll be done or in its final stages when we go in January 2025. I can’t get enough of those lagoon views on Touringplans.

Ha, forgot I have two different logins on two different computers - just in case anyone is confused. :)

Have stayed in both and we love both! Had no noise issues in BPK, but as pp mentioned above, that is probably dependent on your neighbors. Though the rooms are to die for in GF resort studios, I think I would give a slight nod to Poly studios as the walk to TTC for Epcot can't be beat. We also like the sink set up in the kitchenette area at the Poly studio. versus the resort studio at BPK. Plus the couch is situated to face the tv at the Poly studio and great if you don't need to drop that wall bed. IF you need two queen size beds - BPK would probably work better for you. Both properties are awesome though and you really can't go wrong at either one.

We've stayed in the resort studios twice now and experienced no sound issues. Although I do not doubt some experience noise, in my experience, it really depends on your neighbors. Can't do much about that, LOL.

IMO, the resort studio standard views are quite nice - most overlook the pool. We were able to see some of the MK fireworks from the balcony. The location is very convenient, too.

On our last trip, we stayed in a deluxe studio in VGF1. I did not like it a much as I do the resort studio. The deluxe studio felt smaller (probably wasn't, though) and since we found the beverage cooler sufficient for our needs, the mini-fridge wasn't a draw. We won't be choosing the deluxe studio over the resort studio again.

Enjoy your stay - wherever you decide to be.

Yeah the standard views at the GF look decent, but the water views look EXTRAORDINARY. Some of the pics from the higher floors make it seem like your room is floating over the lake. I know room locations aren’t guaranteed but I’ll definitely make the request. Just no dormer rooms! I hate those closed in porches.

We are very much eat and watch tv in bed people at home so the couch config doesn’t bother me.

For me, the biggest selling point on the Poly is the slightly better location and the cheaper price. Still, I am torn 50/50 between the two. I could flip a coin and be happy with either. Hubby thinks the theming at the Poly is cheesy. Fake Hawaii resort in Florida were his words lol. Since he 100% prefers the GF, that makes the decision easier. If you guys are telling me you had no issues with room noise that’s what we will pick. Thank you!!!!

Just from a couple experiences in the Poly studio villas, we'd be more concerned about noise there than VGF. We had a room too close to the ferry boat station - that stupid ferry horn blowing from early morning to very late at night..... That's been about 5 years now, so perhaps they've made some adjustments - not sure. But it was really annoying for the light sleepers in our crew. We'll definitely stay at Poly again at some point - but not in that building.

We prefer the Deluxe Studios over the hotel rooms at VGF, so I might go with the Poly on this one. We find that the second bed gets in the way, whereas in the Deluxe Studios or at the Poly, the Murphy beds can be put up and you have a proper living space for eating, watching TV, etc.

Buts that’s just us. Everyone has different tastes.

Noise wasn't an issue. we had three kids (one 2 yr old) and three adults, and it was comfortable. mini fridge is small for a group of that size. going back in April and have a deluxe studio lake front with the kitchenette. should be nicer than the resort view studio.

The split bathroom with a walk in shower at the Poly is a huge plus over the GF resort studio‘s small bathroom with shower/tub combo.

That and that walk to the ttc is great. I would do a split stay because I love them both, if not then I’d pick the Poly.

We just returned from a trip that was first night in VGF standard view resort studio followed by 4 nights Poly lake view. We did not have any noise issue at VGF but just 1 night. The room was gorgeous! Loved having 2 real beds. One thing we prefer about the original VGF deluxe studios Is having the extra shower like Poly.

Two showers came in real handy for us. VGF deluxe villa and Poly both have a regular bathroom with toilet and shower/bath combo (and sink at Poly), and a separate bathroom with a sink and lovely rainfall shower (pretty big, has bench and also handheld shower head beside the rainfall shower head). We were pleasantly surprised with massive water pressure at Poly. That shower was fantastic!!! Invigorating after a long park day, and nobody knocking on the door because they had the whole other bathroom to use.

As much as I adore the VGF resort studio (it was stunning) next trip we’re going to try for deluxe instead with hopes that second shower is like Poly’s.

We spent the extra points on Poly lake view because standard wasn’t available at 8 months. No regrets. We had second floor with a palm tree in between the castle and space mountain. Still had great view of fireworks. Good splurge but definitely not necessary.

Both resorts are amazing. So much to do within them. Both have lovely rooms. It’s a bit of a tie for me- VGF is slightly nicer overall; Poly has better transportation options between super close-by TTC monorail to MK/Epcot and MK ferry, plus the resort monorail option in GCH or resort boat that circles VGF/MK/Poly. I think can’t go wrong with either.

Even though this trip is over a year away, I’m so excited I can’t stand it. Definitely going with a resort studio at the GF - still debating if the lake view is worth the extra $500 over the course of 6 nights. It sounds steep, but I’m leaning towards affirmative on that one.

As soon as the 11 month window opens, I’ll be putting in my request with DVC Rental Store. From what I have read, the likelihood they can find me something is pretty high. As long as it’s not Beach Club or a resort with a small qty of rooms, I should be okay right?

I notice that the lagoon rooms have availability even at 7 months out. We are going at the end of January to both cut down on costs and avoid high crowds.

I have removed the dates as you want to rent and including those is not allowed.

So sorry, didn’t know. I plan on going through an agency, regardless. Just hoping the chances of getting what I want (resort studio GF lagoon view) are high.

Can't speak on the poly but we did a GF Resort Studio stay in October and it was super quiet. Didn't hear anything. Rooms are also really pretty.
