Does anyone have pics of the newly refurbished rooms? I would love to see them. Also, any ideas when they are supposed to be finished with all of the buildings? I'm going the week after Thanksgiving and it would be nice not to have to worry if I get a "redone room" or not. Of course, I'm just excited to have gotten a code to be able to stay there

Have a great stay!

I am kind of surprised at the refurbished rooms. The CR, WL and Poly room refurbs dramatically changed the look of the rooms, but this is a pretty simple upgrade.

Thank you. I thought the rooms in Conch (something, I forgot, sorry) were "Alice" theme. Did that chang?. I have a garden view, are those rooms done in different decor, does anyone know?

So far only Conch is complete.....these pics are from Conch, but I have seen recent pics of the main building and the theme/color/decor is the same. It seems they have done away with the cute Mr. Toad and Alice and Fairy themes and all the rooms will look the same as these pics when they're complete. There are GV rooms in Conch - I believe there are GV rooms in all the buildings FYI.

I don't really care for the new look. Maybe looks better in person, but so far the photos do not thrill me.:sad2:

Maybe, as you said they look better in person. They don't look as "frilly". Of course, some people didn't like all of the frills from what I read, but it looks kind of plain to me. Not what I expected from the GF. Oh well, I'm sure it will be nice.

I definitely think it looks better, but I was hoping to be wowed into paying $400 + a night, but that decor isnt doing that for me. Also, the room looks a little crowded to me...maybe because of the daybed.

When they are finished all the rooms will be the same. I have seen the rooms and I liked them alot. The bedspreads have Tinkerbell hidden throughout them and the chair has Mickey, as does the desk.

They hope to finish in December.

The wall with the TV on it looks overcrowded. I think it looks extremely tacky and not quite thought out how they hung that one picture on the wall over the sofa bed. It is not hung high enough - the sofabed is ontop of it! It doesn't fit the wall space at all. They kept the art the same even though they changed the room colors and available wall space & the wall decor just doesn't compliment the room anymore.

I don't care for the color scheme, either. Looks bland & again - not thought out. They have some new furniture and some old. Just no WOW factor for me, either. The larger TV is nicer than the previous teeny tiny ones, but having it OUT there like that doesn't appeal to me - I like a TV in an armoire.

That chair looks like it belongs in a hospital room - looks like one I spent time on in the recovery room after outpatient surgery. Yuck. :guilty:

I am disappointed in all the new room decor pics I have seen.

HOPING the rooms look nicer & more pulled together in person, but those pictures on the wall & that mirror are going to bug me. I think I will bring a hammer and fix them, haha.

In the room I saw the mirror was centered over the couch and it looked fine. There are some additionals wall hangings, possibly a sconce that have not arrived.

I thought the rooms looked much better in person and I loved the new daybed. When the TV was turned off, I truly did not notice it but then I like flat screen TVs versus the big ones.

I am SURE it will look better to me in person because when I view it in person, I will be standing in my room at the Grand Floridian and no matter what - I really really love that place. ;)

That daybed will definitely be an improvement for DS17. It looks like the Poly/CR type - twin size or close. DS was getting pretty tight in the old GF ones.....although he can sleep pretty much anywhere.:goodvibes In July he was sleeping with his knees bent up & didn't mind.

Happy day,

Lives4Disney :)
