Planning for the end of the summer...Last time we were there the zero entry pool at the Poly was super for the "wee ones". Does anyone know if the pool at the Grand is zero entry also, and did they do anything special like water slide, ect....? I think I liked the slide in the volcano more than the kids!:genie: :genie:

yes the beach pool has zero entry and a waterslide

I am sensitive to your love of "The spicy chicken" I to am defenseless against it's power!

Dh & I are staying at the GF next month.

I've never been on a waterslide and plan to make up for lost time.....

I'll let you know how it is when we get back!

We went to the pool there (we are DVC members) while our girls were in the cooking class. It was nothing spectacular - just a regular pool. It did not have a water slide. It was really nice but nothing elaborate. It was great to be able to hang while they were at their 2 hour class. It is definitely a beautiful resort but I prefer BWV and BCV.

there are two pools. The main pool which you probably went in. Then the beach pool which has zero entry and a waterslide.

the first picture in the link is the main pool, the second two are the beach pool.

I stayed that the GF in August 2002. We went over to the new pool with the slide. The pool was very dirty. There were bird feathers all over. Even my kids didn't want to swim in the pool. This was just another disappointment we had staying at this hotel. The rest of the week we had to swim in the other pool, which was not dirty at all. Hope they are maintaining the pool better while you are vacationing there.

We stayed at GF last summer in Sugar Loaf. We only went to the newer/beach pool once or twice. It was extremely crowded and small. The other pool, right outside Sugar Loaf, was much larger, less crowded and the one we preferred.

We stayed at the GF last September. We swam in both pools with our 2 and 1/2 year old son. Both were spotlessly clean. Also, when we were there (9/12 to 9/19) there were less than a dozen people in either pool whenever we went. The slide was a lot of fun at the theme pool and our son loved the zero entry and the waterfall - he also loved the interactive fountains next to the theme pool.

It seems to depend on during what season you're vacationing. We went in November with both sets of grandparents and our DD4 1/2. We all loved both pools, which were quite clean. DD loved the waterfall in the beach pool, as well as the sprinklers that are poolside. She also enjoyed the quiet pool, as did we all! We think both pools have their charms and enjoy them both very much! ::yes::
