Is there anywhere on the property of GF that has a distant view of the castle in the background? We are celebrating our 30th this winter with dinner at Citrico's and are hoping to be able to take some pics on property with the castle in the background.

TIA

I don't think that there is a clear view of the castle from the GF, I don't call the view from BLT a clear view either.

Try over by Narcoossee's....you should be able to stage a shot w/water and the castle in the background...good luck...

The wedding pavilion has a perfect view of the castle literally FRAMED in an archway behind where the person performing the wedding ceremonies stands. If you can catch it when there's not a ceremony going on, you can walk right up and over to it. We have "hundreds" of pictures of our daughter and her friends over the years standing where the bride and groom typically stand.

I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned it. Maybe I should have kept this one to myself. :(

Thanks for that tip. We'll be there in a few days and always take a walk around the resorts so will have to drop by the wedding pavilion and see about trying to snap a few pictures.

Post back here and let me know what you think. I'm actually surprised. Apparently it's one of those secrets like DVC. :rotfl2:

At that distance, how clear is the castle? Next to the people in the foreground, I would think that the castle would look like a blurred miniature.

That's exactly what it does look like. It's out of necessity and by design too, I'm sure. It frames up very nicely in the archway.

I'll try to find a pic to post later. I'm pretty peculiar what I post pic-wise on the internet, especially when my DD is in the pic.

It's easy to block the castle as you can see in this photo. Of course DH didn't realize the castle was behind me anyway. I think you can probably get better view of it from Narcoosees.

It's easy to find pictures on the wedding/honeymoon board. This post shows both the arch that Denlo posted and a picture from inside the chapel.

I also do think you can see the castle from the area around Narcoosees - at least I know we watched the fireworks from there and thought the castle was in view too but that was a few years ago.

The window is of the magnifying type.... Makes the castle larger.

Great link. Definitely shows why I was blocking the castle. LOL BTW, we were looking through it at the VGF construction.

Thanks! This archway is behind the pavilion? I've never been there.

Yes.

I guess I should say, for the record, it seems to me that we cross an imaginary "line" going back to the arch. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not really sure you're supposed to go back there but there's never been anyone around to say a word when we have done it because we've always walked over there when no one else was around, admittedly, intentionally.

This may fall into that "forgiveness v. permission" thing. I really don't know. I've never had reason to find out because I'm very careful when we go over there.
