i have read here that the grand floridian has valet parking. i know it's weird but i don't like the idea of some stranger driving my car. but the parking lot to self park is treally far away. Is it really that long of a walk or are people exaggerating a little? Thanks:cool1:

It's a fairly long walk, but certainly not miles... You have to walk through the valet lot, then cross a street (if I'm remembering correctly) and then you're in the self parking lot. If you need to load or unload the car, it's better to do it at the front of the hotel, then have someone park the car.

Otherwise, I'd put it at about a 5 minute walk (not too bad, considering you walk about 10 miles a day at Disney anyway).

It's a bit of a walk, but not too bad. Indeed, drop the spouse and kids and luggage off at the front and hoof it back yourself.

The walk isn't that far. May take you 5 minutes or a little more depending on how slow you walk. I have short legs and have adjusted myselfe to walk faster to keep up with everyone else.

Thanks for the replys. Glad to hear it isn't to far a walk.. Buut i think i will have hubby drop ME and the kids off and he can hoof it back to the resort. Lol. Since i have worked all year to pay for this vacation. He makes $80,000 a year but tells me we can't afford to go on vacation. So i work 3 nights a week waitresing so we can go away every year.Yes i think he can hoof it.

Well, the Grand Floridian is known as Walt Disney World's flagship resort and is considered to be the best of the best. However, it is also said to have the worst parking lot compared to any other resort lol. The walk isn't *that* long, but sure is annoying...especially after a long night out at the parks, or if you come back from a very humid day tired as heck carrying bags all down your arms lol.

We use valet every year we are at the Grand Floridian with a car and it has always been great. But I completely understand how you would feel uneasy about someone else driving your car. We never had to really worry about that. We fly down to Orlando and then sometimes rent a car. So the valet parks our rental car...not really "our" car. The Grand Floridian has an excellent valet service however ;) Last year we were without a car and just used their taxi service :)

Glad to hear it's not that far... just annoying. My hubby thinks i'm a little silly about the valet thing. But it's not his car we are taking it's mine.;)
