hey everyone,

i have the option to stay at either the grand floridian or polynesian..

i would like to know where you would stay if you were in my shoes..

we are a family of four.. two adults, two kids (twin 6 year olds)

also, which is more kid friendly?

thanks

They both are very good, but both have very different character. The Poly is definitely kid friendly, we love the laid back atmosphere which is why its usually our first choice.

The GF is decidedly more upscale and the spa is nice, if your wife likes that sort of atmosphere then that would definitely be the one. You didn't say, but if kids are girls, in my opinion the character breakfasts at 1900 Park Faire are more geared toward girls (Mary Poppins for breakfast, Cinderella for dinner) than boys. You can always take the monorail to Chef Mickeys or 'Ohahas.

Either way, you can't go very far wrong. :)

My kids love the poly, they love the pool and the grounds, we usually stay there, though we are trying the BCV next time.

Both are great choices...considering the ages of your children....mine would be the POLY.

However, take into consideration your tastes in decor. Both are beautiful but obviously very different themes.

Good Luck!;)

Hi. Do you have girls, boys or one of each?;) We have stayed at GF a lot and my DD(7) ADORES the GF. They have afternoon tea in the Lounge with a "Mrs. Potts Tea" for kids, a character dinner with Cinderella, her prince and some of the mice...character breakfast with Alice, the Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins in the waiting area...it is a beautiful resort with 2 great pools-one with a waterslide. I just think it is beautiful. You can't go wrong with either but I've only stayed at the Gf and I can tell you my little girl (very girlie and, shall we say, DRAMATC;) ) just LOVES this resort. I'm having to twist her arm to go to AKL;) :Pinkbounc

I would say Poly. We usually only stay at deluxes but have never stayed at the GF. But I would say aside from the theming of the resorts. The biggest differences are the
1. Options for kids activities. At the Poly they have many free activities that are scheduled throughtout the week. They have arcade challenge, free video games for an hour twice a week, arts and crafts at the neverland club from like 12-3 and movies too. Parents must accompany kids. Pool games, free hula lessons and torch lighting etc.
2. We like the idea of the very accesible captain cooks for 24 hour snacks and mug refills.
3. You must share the bus with the Poly and Contemp. And I think that sometimes the GF was the last stop. Alot of times those guests were standing while we were sitting in our seats.

We have visited the GF and have eaten character meals there, breakfast and dinner and have relaxed in the lobby a little. My Dh would like to stay there one day. The ds say no way.

I know you will enjoy the deluxe resort, no matter what one you pick.
