Grand Floridian Lodge Concierge Deluxe

We're thinking about the Grand Floridian for this summer's vacation.... some questions on the GF Lodge Concierge Rooms and the lounge.

1. What type of view do you have from the Concierge Lounge -- can you see the fireworks, castle, or ewp from the lounge (like at the Polynesian Hawaii Concierge lounge)?

2. What type of food offerings?

3. If we reserved a lodge concierge deluxe room are there any with a view of the castle -- are there any with what would be a bad view (like a parking lot?).

4. How long a walk to the main pool?

Hi Lorie!

The Concierge Deluxe rooms are located in the Main Building (they are part of the Royal Palm Club concierge). The Lodge concierge rooms are located in the Sugar Loaf Lodge building (it is located near the marina and quiet pool). Neither location has a "direct" view of the EWP or fireworks like the Polynesian lounge, however. The main building does have an outdoor promenade down the hall and you'll be able to see some of the fireworks over top of the lodge buildings.

From the main building RPC, you can take a special elevator to the first floor (it drops you off right near Gasparilla Grill and games). The quiet pool is then a short walk away. The shortest route to the main pool from RPC would be the regular elevator.

The Sugar Loaf concierge is a stones throw from the quiet pool and a short walk to the main pool.

The food offerings in the RPC are a bit more "sophisticated" than the Polynesian. The Lodge concierge building has a more limited selection and no evening cordials. There is a great GF FAQ thread at the top of the Resorts Board that has a sample menu from the RPC.
