I had posted previously about my change of plans. My hubby and I were staying at the Poly but got a PIN code and a great deal so they only availability for the discount in July was the Grand Floridian.

I had done so much research for Garden Views at the Poly and requestion Tokelau.

But now, I know little about the GF. For Garden Views, what should I be asking for? Anyone have any pictures???

Also,is the pool zero entry?

There are 2 pools at the GF (as at the Poly) and one of them, the waterfall pool with slide, has the zero entry feature.
As far as requesting a GV, my advice is to not make a request. For my Mother's Day trip to the GF (just 3 nights) I had made no requests and was magically upgraded :wizard:
In most of my GF stays I book a LV or GV and tend to always request Boca Chica b/c we have had so many wonderful stays in that building and I liked the old decor (before the recent redo, each bldg. had its own decor/theme).
I think each bldg. has its own pros and cons and I really would try not to worry about it. You will have a lovely room and probably a lovely view no matter what. I once had a GV room in Boca Chica that overlooked the sidewalk to Narcoossee's restaurant and it seemed blah but on our first night we realized that we could see Wishes and so it ended up being a very special view!
Good luck!

Let me add that I had another room in Boca Chica (my first time staying there in GV) and we were on the 4th floor in a room that had a beautiful view of the main building which is all lit up at night. It also looked over the "quiet" (plain) pool, which kept things lively ;) but NOT in a bad way, honestly.
All my pics of that trip are hard copies and I don't have them scanned onto my computer but I'm sure others do... hopefully someone can help out with that. Again, all the bldgs have their strong points, so don't worry! You will love your room, I am sure :thumbsup2

Supposedly all the GV rooms at the GF are really that ... garden view rooms (as oppsosed to parking lot views that are called garden views). Distances at the GF are minimal, and all the buildings are nice and all are close to the main building and monorail.

The "quiet pool" is the original GF pool. It is really really big and has a jacuzzi with it. The newer pool has the zero-entry, waterslide, and is "beachside". The pools here dont seem as crowded as the pools at other restorts we have visited.

Enjoy your stay at the GF -- it's a fun place to stay!

your best bet is to go to the GF FAQ thread. there are tons of pics on there, views from people's rooms etc. thats the great thing about the GF. there really isn't a "bad view!"

We were at the GF in January and stayed in the Sago Cay... We had a "Garden View". Out of our window we could see the monorail go by- we really liked this a lot. It is my dad's (a former train engineer) favorite. As well at night we could see about half of the fireworks as we stood on the balcony- one night they had "late" fireworks- the rest of the time we sat on the steps by the marina and enjoyed snacks.

It was a much better view than I expected and we were all pleased.

A quick note- some rooms have larger balconies than others. We had 2 rooms. One had 3 adults- a large balcony and day bed. The other room was for a couple and a 1.5 year old. Their room had the higher ceilings, but no day bed. They had a smaller, more enclosed balcony that also provided a great monorail view. They really preferred this room as they felt the balcony was safe for the "quick to run away from you" 1.5 year old. Of course the little one wanted to be on the balcony because the monorail went by. They did not have to worry since the balcony was more enclosed and smaller.

No pics... sorry.

I had a garden view in Conch Key facing the marina one time. We could see part of the lagoon and the monorail.
