Grand Floridian Faceoff: Citricos vs. Narcoosee's

Hey DIS'ers!

Which do you prefer and why? We are going to MVMCP and wanting to visit the GF ahead of time to see Xmas decor were thinking or eating there.

What do you all think?

Easily Citricos, for the extremely well-executed Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, wonderful service, and elegant dining room. At Narcoossee's, the view is great, the food is okay (considered bad for a signature by most), the dining room is loud, and the service last time for us was abysmal.

I think the food is much better at Citricos but the atmosphere is better at Narcoosees, especially if you have young diners.

I like both restaurants but if I had to choose out of them both then it would be Narcoosees because it has always been our experience that it has a much nicer and more friendly atmosphere than Citricos.

We will be doing Citricos for the first time in a couple weeks, so I cannot give my own experience yet. From what I have read, it is one of the best DDP restaurants on property.

We ate at Narcoosees on our honeymoon and loved it. We love seafood (and are very critical, as we live on the eastern shore) and this place did not disappoint. The ambience was great and we loved going out onto the deck to watch Wishes before dessert.

I think it's a win-win. But if you can only choose one, I would just go by the menus and pick the one that appeals to you the most.

We love Narcoossee's, it's a must do for us! I always get the lobster.

We have dined at both and I would say Citricos. The food is much better as is the service.

If you dont want to miss any parts of MVMCP, I would try to get a 5 pm at Citricos. I love their olive bread, delish!!

Some version of this question gets asked every three days, and each time I have no problem saying: Citricos.

The food at Narcs is pretty good but we've had mediocre service for two years in a row. And for that kind of money, that is unacceptable. We will be trying Citricos on our next trip.

Just incase you are not aware.... The two you have chosen are singature restaurants, which means two credits from each diner. If you want to stick to a one credit meal, try the Grand Floridian Cafe.

To be honest, I'd save a signature dining restaurant for a non party night. Even if you get a 5:00 p.m. reservation, you will still be rushing through a very expensive meal to get to the party when it starts at 7:00.

If it were me, I'd do that sort of meal on a night when you don't have a something following it.

If you really want to dine at the GF before the party, I'd do 1900 Park Faire or GF Cafe.
