We just stayed again at the GF but this time did a king deluxe room in the main building. It was THE best stay and we had the best room. We requested and received a octagon type room, use to be called the honeymoon room over a regular size room but a MK view room & I'm glad we did. Not only was the room huge but we also had a view of the castle & saw the fireworks from our room every night. If you have a chance to stay there, request room 4321, or the ones above us, 5421, 5521. We loved everything about the room - bed, view, etc.
Staying CL was great too. The service was great, we were always met with hellos from everyone and from the first day 2 of the guys, one was Joe & I forgot the other persons name chatted with us and helped us with whatever we needed and remembered us which was great. We stayed more for the room size and location then the CL food offerings since we did the deluxe dining plan. We did get a quick thing for breakfast a few times and a few other times for snacks or drinks and all the offerings were good, clean layout and always replenished.
I can't recommend this room &/or just staying in the main building if you can.

That makes me so happy and even more excited....we are soon to be in a DELUXE room at the RPC next month!!! :)

I requested a balcony room tho, but I wanted the "octagon" room, but we wouldnt have a balcony, and thats super important to us!

How were the offerings in the lounge? Were they plenitful or replenished adequately?

Do you have pics to post?

Thanks for your review!

Sounds delightful. Thanks for sharing. :surfweb:

We had a deluxe room with a king bed, so this one only slept 2, but I think there are those rooms with 2 queen beds, not sure if they have a pull out couch or a regular one, so I don't know if it would sleep 5 or only 4.

There was a balcony pretty much right outside our door that we used one night, the queen deluxe rooms I think all have balconies.

I don't have pics sorry.

For breakfast there was a lot to choose from: bagels, cream cheese & flavored cream cheeses, breads, danishes and some other pastries, cheese, deli meat, cut up fruit- melons and maybe watermelon, I didn't take so I didn't look closely, cereal. They had a coffee machine (which worked all day) and gave regular coffee, cappacino & lattes & extra shots of espresso - we used the lattes & extra shots, it was good. & they had flavored syrups too.

Throughout the day they had tea, lemonade, cans of soda & at night beer & wine but the conceirge guy said if we wanted beer or wine during the day to just ask. & at night they had bottles of amaretto & kaulau (sp?) type alcohol. they had travel cups, so in the morning we took coffee to go which was great for the bus/monorail.

I didn't see what they had at noon time. But the 2:30-4 one they had scones, cookies, and some other desserts. For apps at 5 or so, they had a lot of different stuff it was different every night, my DH went twice or 3 times, I only went once with him, but they had cheeses, veggies & dip, mini crab cakes, puff pastry filled with meats, sushi but I don't know what kind, little plates with lo mein & meat. I think thats all they had the one day when I went but I know they didnt have the same stuff the other days when my DH went but I don't remember what he said they had. & at night like 8 I think it started they had desserts & the alcohol I said before.

It always was full the platters and there were people there at the sides to help if needed and I guess to see what needed to be refilled.

Just wanted to clarify the room numbers, it would be 4421 or 4021 ;). DH and I were in 4021 and I agree, it was pretty special.

Can any octagon rooms sleep 5?
No, those rooms are actually referred to as "king deluxe" because they only have 1 king bed. There are 2 other styles of deluxe rooms in the main building, but they only sleep 4 (2 queen beds).

Getting a RPC Theme Park View room in just over a month!! Can't wait!! We requested a king but we, too, really like having a balcony so we'd probably go for two queens to get a little outdoor space.

It gets a little confusing with all the room categories and descriptions, but chances are your TPV room in RPC will have 2 queen beds, plus a daybed. The king beds are a different booking category, called RPC king deluxe. Within that category, there are 6 turret rooms (no balconies, but much larger rooms) and 10 standard sized rooms on the 2nd floor, with a king bed, sitting area, jacuzzi tub and with balconies that overlook the marina and castle. If it's not too busy, maybe you'll get a complimentary upgrade :thumbsup2 . The 2nd floor is more private, but it's kind of a hike to the lounge. Probably the only drawback.

there are king rooms with a balcony but we wanted the bigger room and it was such a better choice. Especially since the room we had was the MK view.

Yes I typed wrong, so it would be 4421 and 4521. There would be no 4021 since there wasn't a room below us in 4321. At least not below us with the same view. The shop was below the room we had

The 5th floor room is 4021. I've stayed in that room, so I'm 100% sure of the room number ;) .

Tammi is absolutely right, we've stayed in that room as well. For some odd reason, the main building 5th floor rooms are designated with a "0" instead of a "5".

Your trip sounds wonderful, thank you for the review!:goodvibes

oh okay, that's weird then. I'm sure the view from the 5th floor was even better! We saw Epcot too and a drop of the fireworks from there but I'm sure the one 2 floors up was even better!

How did you request the Octogon room? We got that room back in 1997 for our honeymoon and really want to have one in Aug. when we go back this year to celebrate. I told the CM when we booked - but is there something else I should do?

Yes, you can also have your request noted with the pre-planning staff.
