Grand Floridian - completely restricted theme park view

Sorry, I have to ask.

If it is your honeymoon, will you really be looking out the windows?

I would enjoy your time there, and ask to speak with a manager but don't let it delay your plans...

After your trip reach out to Guest Services / Guest Relations I can get you the email if you need it.
Hi, yes we are.
We booked our first 2 nights here and booked the theme park view purely to watch happily ever after, with a bottle of champagne to cheers to our honeymoon in our wedding glasses.

The only reason we booked this room and this view.

We have only ever stayed in all star sports before so this was a big thing for us.

Totally understand

Are you in a Dvc room, or a hotel room

Based on their post they booked a DVC Resort Studio TPV. View was restricted. Got moved to a hotel/cash room.
Correct, however the process took almost 2 hours and we ended up missing some of not so scary which wasn’t fun! We wanted to arrive early to meet elvis stitch but didn’t get to do that due to the problems.

Other than changing our room, they did nothing to say sorry and really acted like it wasn’t their problem!

Hopefully this works, this is genuinely the best view I could get!

And thank you for the tip on how to add a photo!
Wouldn't be surprised if there is a lot line between you and that tree and the tree is in a "park". LOL

The room was 6347, and the entire view was blocked by a tree (I do have a photo but not sure how to upload using a mobile)
I assume it was actually 9347. There are 4 rooms in Big Pine Key which are on the theme park side of the building, but largely obstructed by a tree. I'm not entirely clear on how bad the view is from all 4. Touring Plans has a photo supposedly from 9147 which isn't bad.

Regardless, I'm surprised this hasn't been a bigger topic of discussion in the 15 months BPK has been open. In the photo below, the rooms are on the far left behind the tree. This side of the building has 7 rooms across and here you can only see 6 of them.

It is not a great "view" for rooms which are priced at a premium.

Sorry, yes it was 9347!

That is a lagoon view room if I ever saw one. This is why I always check out TP now before thinking about booking a category that requires more points or cash. The point difference between the lagoon and TPV rooms is significant. I had an RS Lagoon view room and was thinking of waitlisting a TPV for this very accommodation but I saw that tree and I'm NFW! This is why I love the BWV Boardwalk View rooms so much and usually stay there. They are the same points as the Garden/Pool rooms.

Was the person who told you that "no view is guaranteed" an employee of the hotel or DVC? If not DVC, I think it's time to get DVC involved. Contact Member Satisfaction. You can wait until you get home-I'm not recommending you lose any more time from your honeymoon.

Sorry this happened during your special stay.

As other advised it is definitely worth reaching out to guest services when you get home. Share your experience. At minimum it will be noted and continued feedback can push changes, helping to improve WDW guest satisfaction. Possibly they respond in kind.

Sometimes this is the way WDW operates. They’ll watch how something is tolerated, respond individually to those who speak up, then decide about changes. I can run a dozen examples here. Ultimately they do care about guest satisfaction and often compensate legitimate concerns after the fact.

It was the same lady who checked us in. At the concierge desks in the villas lobby.

I’m in WDW for another 2 weeks (in other hotels) is it worth speaking to someone whilst I’m here?
