Grand Floridian Club Level Elevator Access Question

We are thinking about booking a GF CL room. We have extended family that will not be staying in a CL room. I was told that CL floors have separate elevators and you need a "key" to access them.
If our extended family wants to come up to our room do we need to meet them at the elevator or can a CM grant them access if we call and tell them we are expecting guests?

You would have to go down and meet them to bring them to your room only. They are not allow to use the lounge. You can ask the club level CM and ask and see if they will let them. Just my views.

You will use the same elevator to access CL as you do for accessing the 2nd floor where the monorail and shops are located. In order to access the CL floors, you will need to scan your MB inside the elevator to access the 3rd, 4th, & 5th floors. As the pp said, if you are expecting guests, you will have to meet them downstairs as they will not be given access to get past the 2nd floor in the elevator. I assume by your post that you are staying RPC (main building CL), but just in case you are thinking SL (outer building CL), that whole building is keyed access, so you would need to meet your guests outside the building.
