We are booking our reservations for our early December trip (last minute decision) and I always see the GFC with available times. What's the story? Is it good? No good? Anyone?

We have dined there several times, the most recent being July 3rd. The service was VERY good, and the meal was very good. That being said, I have had spotty service there in the past, but the food has always been wonderful.

We have eaten there twice this year, and had great experiences both times. Excellent food and service. I just think for some reason, this restaurant is a little "off the radar" to most people.

Sometimes service can be a little slow, but it's always been pleasant, and the food is definitely delicious. The GF in general just has a lot of choices, so this one does seem to fall off the radar! I always rec this as a last minute resort ADR.

We have eaten here for each meal time... never an issue. Breakfast was in June and it was SLOW service, but friendly and the food was good. Place was damn near empty, so not sure why so slow. But, good food + I got an extended amount of one on one time with my kid, so...silver linings and all that!

We've stopped in a couple times over the years and have yet to be disappointed. The food is always good, without prices being obscene. We actually didn't care very much for Citricos a couple years back as the meal was hardly better than what we had here (or any good restaurant in North Jersey), at a much higher price point.

We had a very nice meal here in July. They sent us away with cupcakes for the kids since we didn't want dessert then. My husband and I had burgers and fries that were delicious. We booked it while in MK for that same evening. It was a short boat ride from MK.

Shhhh!!! Dont let everybody know but I think it is one of the best kept secrets at Disney! Close enough to MK that you can pop over for lunch or dinner without it being a huge hassle. Plus, in my opinion, the food is delicious and waaaay better than anything you can get in the MK. Their soups are always yummy and the shrimp and grits entree on the dinner menu is my absolute favorite!! It is really pretty and the seats are comfortable! We eat there every single time we go to WDW (and we go alot). In all of the times we have gone we had one time that both the meal and the service were pretty horrible. I am glad it was not our first time because I dont know if we would have gone back.

We had dinner there in June and it was one of our favorite meals. Food and service were both excellent. It was the one restaurant DH requested we make sure the repeat next trip.

The first time we ate at GFC was on Christmas morning in 2012. It was the only place I could get an ADR for about a month before. It was wonderful! The service was superb, and we loved our meal. The best part of the meal was when 2 grown men walked in wearing footie pajamas! I'm going to guess it was a family tradition for them, and it was just adorable. I tried it again the following year, but for dinner. Everything was once again amazing. It is one of Disney's hidden gems, IMHO. Both breakfast and dinner were very good, and it is a place we'll go in the future. Very relaxing atmosphere, and a beautiful view if you get seated near the windows.

Agreed - one of our favorites - Better than most Disney TS food quality and service - Usually nice and quiet too - Have had Breakfast and Dinner there.

GFC is one of my favorite spots for breakfast, right behind Kona. I have never been for lunch or dinner, but I really want to in the future. Great food and great service. I always love getting an early ADR right when they open, then taking the monorail over to MK for rope drop. Always a great way to start the day.

Wow! Thanks everybody! Now I'm super excited for the reservation! We're hoping the big gingerbread house will be up by then too!

We went for breakfast on our last trip and loved it! The food was great and our server was very friendly and efficient. Oddly enough, the restaurant was empty, save for us and a couple other tables. Maybe because we went at 10:30 since it was our resort/rest day. I would definitely go back!

We had breakfast there on our departure day last December and loved it! Food was yummy, service was just fine, and the prices were very reasonable for WDW. I really only booked it because I wanted to see the Christmas decorations in the GF lobby, but we were pleasantly surprised (the vanilla French toast was the winner, BTW).

LOVE it for lunch!!! Last time we went to see all the holiday decorations, had late lunch and went to MVMCP after. Was a great afternoon/evening. EVERYONE is so nice there. I was taking a picture of their menu posted outside and the CM at the podium handed me one and said "take it home." My favorite is the Grand Cafe Sandwich.

Our recommendtions:
. . . appys:... Crab Cakes, Onion Soup
. . . entree:.. Grand Sandwich (lunch), New York Strip (dinner)
. . . dessert:. Boston Cream Pie

NOTE: The Cafe is on the ground floor overlooking the pool and courtyard. It is airy and light inside, with a sophisticated coffee shop appeal. The food is tasty, with quality well above average, but selections nothing too out of the ordinary. Our service always has been outstanding. Worth jumping to for breakfast or dinner. The lunch menu has changed and now not worth the journey, unless you are already there. We like the Onion Soup and the Grand Sandwich, which is close to an open-face club with an interesting Boursin cheese sauce and fried onion straws, which the wife and I like to share as it is so big. For dinner, the Bone-In New York Strip Steak is always tasty; the Shrimp and Grits not so much. By the way, a good place to take young kids to start learning manners as it is seldom very crowded.
