Was wondering how do people rate the grand Floridian cafe?? We will be eating there this May for the first time and was curious whether or not people liked it.

Is the dessert sampler one of the choices you can pick while on the basic dining plan?

Absolutely love love love the Grand Floridian Café!! We eat there every single trip. We always get one seasonal soup and salad and split it with the table. The salad is huge so more than enough for one person. The last time we went the soup was cream of mushroom with a nutmeg foam. The time before that it was butternut squash soup with apple relish. Both were delicious. I really enjoy the shrimp and grits at dinner. My family has gotten the burger a few times and really liked it. I don't know about the dining plan because we never have it but I think it is allowed for 2 people. It is worth the $$!

Beautiful elegant setting with great food. Dined there twice and loved it!

We've had lunch and dinner at the GFC. Both times the food was good, but the service was extremely slow. Our reservations were at the start of both meal services, so it wasn't as if the restaurant was running behind schedule or the kitchen was backed up. We've decided it's a place we would choose if we want a long leisurely meal.

We ate here for the first time our last trip and were pleasantly surprised. Food was great and the service was some of best we had in WDW! Highly recommend.

We've been fans of the GFC since our first trip. :goodvibes

We always go there either for dinner or breakfast every trip. If breakfast, it's our departure day treat. A nice, leisurely breakfast, looking out at the gardens, and all the people scurrying by.

We've done lunch, and my husband likes it, but I think I prefer the dinner menu - since it's one of the few places that still have separate lunch and dinner menus.

I have eaten there for lunch, and I really enjoyed it. I wanted to return for breakfast, but I switched that to a late character breakfast at Park Fare.

We really like GFC for lunch, we have always had a nice meal there

I had a delicious corn chowder last spring. But I am curious if anyone can tell me if the "seasonal soup" is truly seasonal, or if it is a new daily soup?

We have loved it over the years and it was always a must do for us. That said, I wasn't "in love" with it on our last trip. Maybe it was because it was Christmas Eve, but the night was just "off"...food was off, service was off...

We will likely go again because we have had some terrific meals there but it was a real disappointment for a much anticipated meal.

Would like to know this as well. we'll be at the GF Aug 29 - Sept 1 and would probably like to grab lunch there on our arrival day. Would prefer not to make an ADR tho in case plane is delayed....

I just had lunch there 6 days ago - still delicious! Our server was very nice and prompt as well.

Last year for Mother's Day we had an ADR for 8 people and ended up being 1.5 hours late (grandma lost her diamond ring for a bit, panic ensued). They still sat us we just had to wait a bit for a table. They were friendly about it. I would probably make a later ADR and if you arrive early I am sure they will seat you. If you are late they generally just warn you that it may be a longer wait but they will seat you still. There are usually tables open, but I think the concern is how many servers and cooks they have. From what I could see they had only a few servers with many tables assigned.

Have eaten breakfast here twice and love it. Great servers and food. If you go after the morning rush you shouldn't need ADR. It was near empty at 9am last October.

We had dinner there about 4 years ago and it was fantastic. I had a steak that was cooked just perfectly. I am pretty sure DH and I had the desert sampler and it took both of our DDP credits for one sampler.

Thanks to you both!
Looking forward to eating lunch there in August then.:thumbsup2

I think we will give it a go as well. We are actually thinking about it for our departure day, hoping it will be a nice, quiet place to enjoy a good meal before Magical Express comes to take us to the airport.
