Been busy planning my disney vacation and was thinking about eating at the Grand Floridian Cafe for dinner. Good idea or bad idea? To anybody who has eaten there recently, I'm interested in your advice. As always thanks in advance.

NOTE: The Cafe is on the ground floor overlooking
the pool and courtyard. It is airy and light inside, with
a sophisticated coffee shop appeal. The food is tasty,
with quality well above average, but selections nothing
too out of the ordinary. Our service has been always
outstanding. Worth jumping to for breakfast or dinner.
However, the lunch menu has changed and now not
worth the journey. By the way, a good place to take
young kids to start them to learn manners.

I was a little nervous when I booked it for our last trip because I hadn't heard a lot about it and it was the only place I could find with an opening (What does that tell you!?!) I went in just telling myself "They can't mess up a burger, right?" However, it turned out to be my husband's favorite meal of the trip! He loved his steak (more than Yachtsman's the night before) and is still trying to "recreate" the suger snap peas he had that night. It was one of just a handful of places that was automatically put on our "must do" list for our upcoming trip.

We just had lunch there 2 weeks ago.Made a nice relaxing lunch. We shared the french onion soup. DH had the salad with rock shrimp and I went for the lobster/hamburger.:thumbsup2. It was our last day lunch & will be on the agenda whenever we go back.I wish we had gone before:sad2:

We tried the Grand Floridian Cafe for dinner in September after a day at the AK. It was a fantastic was to wrap up our day. The restaurant is lovely, the service was good and the food was very, very tasty. My husband absolutely loved his steak and my son loved his salmon dish. The vegetarian offering was also very good and probably the meal that stuck out most in my mind this trip. After dinner we walked around the Grand Floridian listening to the band playing before we headed on the monorail for our resort. This is one restaurant that both my husband and my 16 year old son are requesting to go back to next trip.

We love the Grand Floridian Cafe. Its one of the only one credit table service where kids can get steak. Its such a pretty restaurant. Love their salted butter and bread and the Grand Floridian Burger. Husband loves the steak and we love the chocolate fondue for dessert. Great choice for a quiet and relaxing meals.

GFC is one of my favorites:love: We had dinner there last year and it was great. I hope to try it for breakfast one day.

I've had breakfast and dinner at GFC, and both are delicious! I think its a great choice. Plus, all the CMs there are extremely friendly and attentive (in my experience)

GFC is one of our favourites, too. We usually breakfast there at least once during our trips. The food is good and, for us, plentiful. Lunch at GFC can be a pleasant and quiet break from the parks. As has been mentioned by others, the CMs are friendly and attentive.

We had dinner there Friday night and it was fantastic. We ate there in April and it was great then too. We will definitely be making GF Cafe a must-do from now on.

We've done it for breakfast and dinner, and both were great experiences. I'd recommend it as well.

This was our third trip to GFC and I don't think we will go back for a while. The other two trips were A/B ratings for us.

We were there last month and it was great. I had the chicken with wild mushroom risotto it was so good. It has climbed to the top of our list it is quiet and relaxing and after a nice dinner I am ready for the parade and the fireworks.

My family had dinner there in late October and it was okay. The food itself was pretty good - the dessert sampler is one of my favorite items. The biggest drawbacks is that the two times I've eaten there, the service is really slow. Our dinner (appetizers, entrée, and dessert) took nearly two hours - I'd expect this at a Signature, but was a bit surprised that it took that long at GFC. Also we had an unfriendly waitress, so that probably colors my opinion of the meal. She was obviously unhappy about something because she kept pulling other servers aside and "talking" to them. Overall, we've eaten at GFC twice and neither time was it very impressive, so we're not that inclined to go again on our next trip.
