Grand Floridian Cafe

Has anyone here tried the Grand Floridian cafe, if so how was the food and the atmosphere. I have it on our list to try, but i am not so sure of it. Thanks for any help!!

We went last August. It was my daughters birthday. The food was ok, the service was very good. It was not crowded at all and it was pretty quick for being a sit down. They gave my son and daughter a certificate and named them artist of the day.

The atmosphere is great, very peaceful and more "dignified" than most disney dining. We've eaten there three times and thoroughly enjoyed all of our meals. I remember they had an unusual name for something that was essentially steamed green beans, but the taste was quite good. It's one we'll return to.

Has anyone gone there for breakfast? We were seriously considering it, but I haven't heard much feedback.

Well, I hope my experience is not the norm. We ate there this past December. Of all the restaurants we went to, it is the only one we would not consider returning to. The restaurant is beautiful but our waiter was very "stuck up" for lack of a better term. We were a party of 8 and 5 were children, but they were older children and very well-behaved and quiet. Also, we were on free dining so I don't know how that factored into his attitude. (I know it factored into our tip!) Most of us had the steak (I can't remember the cut right now) and it was very tough. We had steak at other disney restaurants that was great. My husband had the salmon and did say it was good, but by that time the waiter's attitude had definitely impacted his appetite. Also, we had to wait 30 minutes after our reservation just to get in when the restaurant was at least 2/3 empty (and remained mostly empty the whole time we were there despite a long line of people waiting to get in.) Hopefully they were just having a bad day, but based on our experience we won't be going back.

ate there twice last week for breakfast. wish i had all 4 breakfast there. any time i go to disney this will be my breakfast location.
