There was a post about two weeks ago about the GF Cafe. I am writing this to give our opinion about our dinner there.

DD19 and I had dinner there last week (Jan 17). DD ordered the prime rib and I ordered salmon. We both really enjoyed our meals. Our food was cooked exactly as we requested. The service was very good (yet unobtrusive). My only disappointment was not the Cafe's fault. Parents who have not taught their children proper manners.....I wish they would stick to fast food type places where sitting ON the table, climbing the wall (I kid you not), and screeching seem to be acceptable. This was very annoying. I simply cannot believe that this mother allowed this behavior. She should have been mortified that her child disturbed all the diners around her and chosen to eat at a facility that was more on par with his level of experience (McDonalds, perhaps?).

Great food and great service. Thumbs up.

Around a month ago we had breakfast there and I kid you not the eggs benedict were probably the best I ever eaten. Or close to it. Very good.
However I am still honked off the server refused the DDE discount on beverages.

We really enjoy GFC. We all enjoyed our dinner there as well, and if you catch breakfast on a beautiful sunny morning - well, there's nothing like it. Great food and a wonderful atmosphere - uh, unless the climbing children are there...;)

I've always wanted to try GF cafe. Do you think you could get in here without an ADR for dinner?

We had an ADR when we went last May, but when we were there it was not very busy at all. My guess is that you could get in without an ADR as it does not seem to be a very popular restaurant. We loved it there. It was one of my DH favorite meals of our trip!

This is what my mom said about the eggs benedict too. I got the egg white frittata and wheat toast - the wheat bread was delicious and when we asked the chef about it (he came to our table to discuss a food allergy), he told us that it was a special recipe that they bake on the premises. The atmosphere and service was pleasant and we hope to return here during our next WDW trip!

Glad to so a positive post on the Grand Floridian Cafe. We love it and the food and service have always been very good. I usually order the fish of the day and nearly lick the plate clean.;) Can't wait to go back in July...:goodvibes

We had a dinner there in December and the food was great, the server was okay but the kids at the table behind us were horrendous! :scared1:

It did not help that the tables were marble so when the kids banged silverware or dishes on the table it made so much racket!

I would have died of embarrassment if anyone in my family acted like these children. The parents and relatives at the table just ignored the bad behavior. It was sad!

For the most part would you perfer to use a TS credit here or pay OOP and save the TS for elsewhere? I'd love to hear from the diners from all three meals (B, L, D).

TIA!

We love the GFC! I do wish they would bring back the menu that they had around 1998-2000, quite a few more choices; but it is still one of my favorite places to eat. :thumbsup2

For those who have eaten here, would you recommend it to others? I'm trying to decide between here and Kona Cafe for lunch. TIA
