Grand Floridian Cafe - Opinions, Please!

Hi! Just made reservations for dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe, right before the Halloween Party in two weeks.

Can anyone give me any feedback? Have not eaten here before. Went on allearsnet.com to look at the reviews, and they were mixed. Would appreciate any opinions, especially about what menu items you like.

We've eaten there several times and the food was always hot, fresh and very tastey. I usually order the fish of the day and it's always something delicious. The french onion soup is very good, too. The desserts are "mini sized" so you can try more than one or just one if you're too full.

That's good to know. We'll probably give it a try - I got nervous because I read quite a few negative posts on the dining review board on allearsnet. Thanks!

This was one of our favorite dinners when we went in May. We would definitely go again. DH loved his steak and I had a fantastic chicken dish. And the desserts were incredible!

Cinderella is there now sinc PF 1900 is closed for renovations. Not sure until when. I know that will be the case when we visit the last week of this month.

Reports are coming in that 1900 PF is expected to reopen within the next couple of days, well ahead of schedule. I guess we'll find out soon.

Yes, I was chatting with a GFC server last week and that's what he told me. It was at Citrico's lunch, which is serving in lieu of the GFC. BTW, the shrimp caesar salad was delicious, but I don't know if it's offered at dinnertime. If you get Simon as a server, he's excellent.

Thanks! It's my understanding that 1900 PF is open again. Would you suggest trying to get an ADR there, instead of GF Cafe? Have never been to 1900 PF.
