We are staying at the GF next week for 8nts and we have 3 children one of which is a infant. Needless to say we all are so excited. We are looking for some suggestions/tips etc to help make our vacation truley magical. Any suggestion on what building to request. We have booked a garden view room.
Thanks in advance

Hi. Lots of opinions on that...
Your choices would be Sago Cay, Conch Key, Boca Chica and Big Pine Key. I've stayed in all of them and most recently stayed in Big Pine Key for the very first time. I LOVED it. Very nice location - close to BOTH pools and also to the lobby and therefore the monorail, dining, etc.
Now that the standard rooms are all decorated the same, (each building used to have its own "theme") there is no difference as to decor, so I personally would request Big Pine Key.
Don't worry, though, you will love the GF no matter what building you end up in :thumbsup2
Have a great trip.

We stayed in the Boca Chica building in a garden view room. The view was beautiful! I've read that most the garden view rooms have nice views with the exception of a few that have obstructed views due to a pool house building. The rooms with obstructed views would most likely be ground floor rooms in some areas of Big Pine Key and Boca Chica. Check out the Grand Floridian grounds map to see what I mean. I wouldn't suggest a particular building. I would just request a room with a nice view when making room requests. That gives them more leverage to pick a nice view for you, rather than having to stick with one building. What are you looking for in a room? View or proximity to the main building, monorail and restaurants? If it is proximity to the action, Sago, Big Pine, and Boca Chica are about the same (Big Pine probably slightly closer) while Conch Key would require a bit more walking, but it's close to the boat dock to MK.

Just subscribing. In September, we're staying at the GF too for the first time in a garden view and wondering what building is best.

We've stayed in Boca Chica twice and love the location -- a few steps from the huge "quiet pool." All the building at the GF are nice and pretty close together, but if you want very quick access to the pools, I would ask for Big Pine or Boca Chica. It's not a long walk to the main building from any of the outer buildings at GF, though, and they're all charming.:)

:) Have a magical time at the GF -- it's so nice there!

I have stayed in Boca Chica, and Sago Cay. I greatly prefer sago cay because its close to the food and not that much further to the main building!
