Are the regular rooms at the Grand Californian workable for parties of 3 kids? We usually stay at the Embassy Suites down the road, which is great for our size, but a bit of a hassle to get to the parks. I know they have suites at GCH, but I don't want to pay what they are asking for those. Thanks!

If you get a bunkbed room at the GCH, the bottom bunk has a trundle under it. Fits 3 kids perfectly.

We like to stay at the GCH. We usually get a room with a queen bed and bunk beds for the kids. The bunk beds are twin size, but also have a third pull-out bed under the bottom bunk. So a family of 5 can sleep comfortably and the kids love it!

I'm not sure, but I don't believe a bunkbed room can be guaranteed. If you get a regular two queen room, the sleeping area for the 5th person is a sleeping bag. This was a factor in our decision to not stay at GC for our trip this weekend, not the major factor, that was cost, but for all that much money, I did not want to take even the chance of one of my kids having to sleep in a sleeping bag. The rooms at the GC are not tiny, but they are not very spacious either, definitely not as big as the DLH rooms, or at least the room I was in at the GC was not nearly as big as the room I was in at the DLH.

I would call the hotel and find out for sure if you can guarantee that a bunk bed room with a trundle is what you will get if you book as family of 5.

Cool, I will have to remember the bunks with a trundle at the GCH. We are expecting our third little one and that would be perfect in a few years as we do want to stay there once our kids are old enough to remember it!

We stayed in bunkbed room in Oct. My 3 kids loved it. They keep asking to go back to the camp hotel. I tell them to talk to daddy :rotfl:

When I made the reservation, I requested the bunkbed room or 2 queens with a sofa bed.

We have stayted at the GC twice and both times we requested bunk beds and got them with no problem (we have three kids so it worked out perfectly). I don't know if they will guarantee it, but we did request it at the time we made our reservations.
