How easy is it to get a 2 bedroom villa at the Grand California end of May at the 7 month mark? We are considering going to Disneyland!! Grand California is not our home resort!!

Possible but I wouldn't refer to it as easy. If there is availability you will want to be online right at 8 am eastern trying to book. Another route would be to rent or get a transfer from a VGC owner so you can book in the home resort window and then rent out your own points to cover the cost.

We were able to secure a room there twice at 7 months and I would say both times they were available down to 6 months, before suddenly disappearing. That was for NH april vacation. Both times a 1BR. Watch the availability and pounce in the early morning!

By end of May, do you mean Memorial Day weekend? That may be more of a challenge.

Yes, 1BR seem to usually be available at 7mo. Studios are very difficult at 7mo. I'm not certain about 2br, but think it may be difficult due to the studio availability.

I don't know if it helps the OP, but the VGC 1 BR have a full 2 bathrooms (like BLT and Kidani) plus a Murphy bed under the TV, so at least there are 2 beds in addition to the King in the master.

We've been able to book one at 7 months for later in the summer and they were available for another two weeks after the seven month mark.

Assuming you mean sometime during the period that is the Thursday before Memorial Day and the Thursday after, May 25-June 1 next year, May 26-June 2 this year, you may have a chance for a dedicated 2BR. For that period this year, the dedicated 2BR was open the entire time at 7 months out while all other rooms (including the 1BRs) were missing days.

I'm no sure how many are in your party OP but I wanted to agree with hakepb that the 1 bdrm is very spacious! Stayed there a couple weeks ago and was impressed with it's size. There was 5 of us.

I've been looking every now and then for availability for just a night since we are locals and it's been hard. I found the one over the summer of a whim and I was able to book a 1 bdrm for a sat next Feb before Presidents weekend but it was the only day available. Maybe just be flexible and get what you can get at GCV and book elsewhere for the remainder of your stay!

I'm 4 for 4 at VGC at 7 months, twice studios, twice 1 bedrooms.

We were able to book at exactly 7 months for the end of June this year. Just make sure to be right on top of it for booking.

We scored a 2 bedroom villa for this past July 4th week on exactly the 7 month mark at exactly the minute it opened for such last December. So it can be done. It is a beautiful resort!

We have also had exceptional luck. In fact my one bedroom for the week after Thanksgiving has come through and that was just within the past few weeks. We haven't had many issues at exactly 7 months and our waitlists have come through most of the time when we tried to book after 7 months.

I booked right at the 7-month mark for a 1-bedroom villa...2 nights, 3/16/17 to 3/18/17 to celebrate DD's birthday.

This is our very first time staying with DVC points at VGC!

We have been able to score both a Studio and a 2 bedroom at 7 months, both of which were for the first week of June. Like the PP said, make sure you are online right when it opens up. However, when I booked our June 2016 trip, I had to keep checking the availability because the only date that wasn't available was the arrival date...all of the other dates were opened. I had to wait 3 days past the date that we originally wanted to arrive before booking because that was when all of our dates opened up fully. Good luck
