If you book a package through Disney, is the resort fee included for the GC in the price or is it added on later?

Also, is self parking free when you stay at the GC? TIA

I think the resort fee is added on after you get there - I know that it is if you book room only and not a package.

Self-parking is included in the resort fee.

My brother booked a package and he said the resort fee was inclusive of the total cost.

I know in the past, the packages have included the resort fee.

Be aware that self parking at GCH is across the street at PPH, I believe. We happened to be there when it was raining and with a party that needed help, so we opted for valet parking, which added a whopping amount to our bill by check-out. We were there 4 days and I think it was about $90, not counting the tip for the valet each way and the tip for the luggage guy (and the tip for the person who took the bags to the room later and picked them up). We never used our car so it was an expensive parking spot :) If I hadn't had 3 kids and my 77-year-old mom in a wheelchair, I'd have carried the bags myself and parked my own car because I'm cheap :rotfl:

Does anyone know if you have to pay the resort fee if you are staying on DVC points. We are going before the villas open so we will be at the hotel in August. Also how much is it if we do have to pay? Thanks:)

I think Valet Parking is $17/day now!!!

If you should stay there in the future, you can always pull up to the front entrance and unload your people/baggage, and tell the valets that you are going to self-park. Then you can go park across the street and walk back by yourself. I've even had them tell me to just leave my car there while I checked in (keys in it, in case they need to move it), and then I drive it out to the lot afterwards.

We just returned and used our DVC points. I thought we were supposed to be, but we weren't charged the resort fee. The free parking (not valet) is supposed to be technically in the fee so you do not pay again per day. The parking lot is across the street from the hotel. It is before Paradise Pier Hotel, which is across the street on the opposite side of the pkg lot. We rented a car from Alamo at Downtown Disney and they park their cars in the same lot.

I've stayed at the GC (and the PP) several times using DVC points and have never been charged the resort fee - it's apparently included as part of the arrangement DVC has with the Disneyland resorts.

Thanks for the info. We are looking forward to staying there this summer. I just wish they would post park hours already. We will have a rental car so I guess my DH will drop us off and then go park the car since I don't think we will use it while we are there it would be nice to save the valet fee.
Thanks again!:goodvibes

When we went to the AKL during the building of the Villas valet parking was free for DVC members because construction was going on. Anyone know if that's the case at the GC?

OP, it's definitely included in the package price. You won't be charged it separately.

You don't.

Have you considered just using Grayline's Disneyland Express bus or a shuttle service?

I think Valet Parking is $17/day now!!!

That's what the signs at DLH said, so I imagine it's the same for GCH.

I'm here right now and we pulled up, checked-in, then went to the car and got all the bags. DH parked the car and then he came back and helped me with taking the bags to our room. We left the car out there, keys and all for a good 15 minutes, if not more. No questions asked. Super friendly people too. :goodvibes

No parking fee - I think there is a 13.xx resort fee, but since our AP price went from $279 to $312(or something like that) for our one night, it's included in your final quoted price that you pay beforehand.
