We're not going until October '08 so I was just playing around w/ the dates on the disney site & could never get rates b/c I guess Oct '07 is sold out? :confused3 Which seemed odd.

What I read is you can get a suite WITH bunkbeds. So the bunk wouldn't be IN the bedroom w/ the King/Queen. I was trying to verify this & check the rates but I was coming up empty at every try.

Anyone know the answer? IS there a SUITE w/ Bunks & if so, how much more is it?

Can't wait to REALLY start planning this thing, I think I have to wait at least until January. :hourglass

I am not sure about the room question, from the pics I have seen it looks like they are separate. I am sure there is someone on here who can tell you for sure. However, just being on the DIS counts for planning already! I don't think you really have to wait until Jan to start:surfweb:

 :rotfl:

I can't answer the room configuration question - but I would wait a few months to play on the website - odds are the rooms are not sold out - just not released on the internet yet. Last year in June my October dates were "sold out", and I could only find concierge rooms available. Set on my dates I booked right away. A month later - every site under the sun had room - guess I jumped the gun a little :rolleyes1 !!!

The last few Octobers there has been a 4th night free - not sure about 2008.

Last year we stayed in a standard room which had 1 queen bed and bunk beds with a pull-out trundle...so the 5 of us fit! It looks as if the floorplans may have changed??

What dates are you putting in? We've been playing with it today for our trip this year in October and it shows that it has rooms available. Try again!

My BIL and SIL had just a standard room with the bunk beds in the same room. I don't know about suites there, gotta think it would be quite a bit more then the standard rooms.

Try putting in various dates around the days you want. Sometimes they'll make it so you can't arrive on a Thursday (or other random day) during various parts of the year. It will tell you its not available, but if you come on Wednesday it will be open. Its crazy.

Oct. 5-7 are "Gay Days" at DLR. The organizers negotiated a rate of $209/night for the Grand Californian. A lot of non-gay people have also booked rooms during this time using the Gay Days rate.

The GCH may very well be booked for that period or the block of rooms set aside for the event haven't been released yet.

You could try calling and asking for the Gay Days rate. Is your husband willing to get a mullet, shave really close and wear an Indigo Girls t-shirt?

:rotfl: I found out you don't have to be gay to get the code. Although, I did tell DH that if it came down to it, he might need to act like he was more than just friends with my brother..hehe (j/k of course). We got the rate for the 9th - 12th and had to pay the normal rate for the 13th and 14th.

Cool!!! That should save you enough for a couple of character meals! :thumbsup2

If we hadn't been able to get the great rate, we would have just stayed at the Candy Cane Inn. So the code made a big difference in our trip.

We were just there the last week of March and had a standard room with bunk beds-1 Queen with the bunkbeds. I'll see if I have a picture to post. We were on the 3rd floor and it was great because we could use the stairs and not have to wait for the elevator.
