So DD invites us to DL to see Avengers . We are all gung ho to go. She wants to stay at Grand Californian. We all would! But I hear that it’s virtually impossible to book it at 7 months out.

what are the possibilities? We are looking at Winter or Easter breaks.

VGC is tiny. It's has the fewest number of rooms out of all of the DVC Resorts.

There are:
23 dedicated 2-bedrooms
23 lock-off 2-bedrooms
3 grand villas

If you are tied to a school break or a popular time, you won’t get it. However I have had success getting a dedicated 2-bedroom at 7 months 8am during slower time periods.

Since it is so difficult to book, you may want to rent from an owner and then rent your points out to help cover the cost.
