I've found several different answers to this. Maybe someone who's been there will know.

Is there a self parking fee for guests at the Grand Californian?

I've seen everything from free to $8 a day to $8 an hour to "over $20 a night"

I am staying on DVC points, so if there is a fee they'd have to add it.

All three DL hotels have a $10 per day (plus tax) fee which covers parking and use of the exercise room. Everyone pays this fee even if they do not have a car.

They will add a resort fee if you have just reserved a room. The resort fee is $10 per night, & with tax it comes to $11.50 per night. This resort fee includes parking, use of the fitness center, and newspaper on weekdays. If you have a package, then parking is already included.

Good news! If you are staying on DVC points, the resort fee is included. There is no extra fee for self parking. If you valet park, there is an added fee.

Enjoy!

I agree with Califgirl. i have stayed at Paradise Pier and GC using DVC points and the resort fee (parking) was included. I plan to stay at DLH in july using DVC points and it is included still. The GC parking lot is across the street from the GC hotel, to the right of the PP hotel.

Just my 2 cents worth:
If you are not planning to use your car while staying at the GC use the self parking lot across the street (it is not far at all).
That way you are not paying extra for parking, and if you really need to use your car suddenly it's not too far away.
If you plan to use your car a bunch then paying for the valet parking may be worth it to you. It is nice to be able to call down and have your car waiting right in front. We have done it both ways there and decided that we didn't use our car enough to merit the extra $$$ for the valet.

I didn't know that you can call down to have your car wait for you - that is good to know, thanks cj :)

That rocks. Well, Nala, I guess there's your answer. ;-)
