Grand Californian on Points..

We have stayed at the Grand Californian many times---this is one of my all time favorite hotels, so I am pretty excited about our trip this summer !
This time, it will be the first time we have used points to stay at the GC, so I had a couple of questions. I was curious if anyone else who has stayed there on points would know about the additional fees.
If I remember correctly, it seems like there is a daily resort fee and also a daily parking fee. I was wondering if that is included when a person uses points or is one presented with a bill upon check-in for these things?
Right now, we are 2 adults and 1 junior, but I may get another room for some relatives who may be joining us. I was wondering what happens if you have 3 adults in your room? Do you pay an extra person fee?

(Why do I always come up with these good questions over the weekend? ) I hope I can survive the wait until Tuesday when I can call MS and ask! . (I'll try to think of something less exciting in the meantime... )

We stayed there this past December, just for one night (we live about a 30 minute drive away). I was also unsure about the resort fee and the parking fee, but was pleasantly surprised that I did not have to pay either, the points included both There are 2 seperate places to park; Self Parking (across the street) and Valet Parking. Valet pricing was completely rediculous, so I pulled up, dropped everyone off, and then parked across the street and walked back (took an extra 5 minutes, no big deal). I mentioned to the cast member at check in that if I had known parking was included, I would have valet parked. Come to think of it, she never mentioned if the valet was included for sure, so you may want to call the resort ahead of time and ask, just in case you want to use the valet.

As far as extra adult fees, I don't know that one either. We had 5 of us in our room (3 kids, one in each bunk bed, and one in the trundel (sp?) bed). If you get a room with 2 queens, it probably isn't a big deal, as long as you don't need an extra bed. Have fun

I've stayed at the GC many times and there is no extra resort fee. The Health club and newspaper etc. are free. Self parking is free and valet is the regular rate ($12?).

They do not treat DVCer's with points any different than cash paying guests. You will get great service!

You may want to look into using a few extra points for Concierge level...

Valet included, and the $$$ we saved by eating breakfast in the Lounge, bottled water, snacks, beverages, wine and cheese and milk and cookies for the chidren at night, and a special resort "Believe" viewing area (5 of us) far outweighed the extra cost...
