Grand Californian Hotel to DL

I have the Passporter Map of DCA where I can see the entrance from the Grand Californian Hotel into DCA and I have another map of the whole DL area but I can't seem to work out how you get to the front gate of DL from the Grand Californian. The Unofficial Guide says its only a four minute walk to DL but I can't see how you walk from the hotel into that Plaza Area between the two parks as the front entrance of the Grand Californian seems to open out onto a large road which faces the other Disney Hotels not the plaza area b/w the two parks. Can anyone help?

You exit the Grand into Downtown Disney and from there, walk to the DL gate.

Thanks that makes sense now as I have read that thread and I can see where the exit is.
