We are arriving at SNA (depending on if we are ontime) on Wednesday at 2pm. We are using the Super Shuttle to get to the Grand Californian.

Dilemma...we ordered from Von's but the latest they deliver on Wednesday is between 1-3. I noted to please deliver as late as possible due to our arrival time. But, we have beer in our order, and I think I've read that the Grand Californian will not sign for alcohol.

Anyone had luck having concierge or someone signing for them? I really hope we don't miss our delivery!

When we let the Grand know that we were expecting a Von's delivery, they did specifically say that to make sure there was no alcohol in the delivery since they would not sign for it. I am not sure what will happen if they attempt delivery when you are not there with alcohol. We are wine drinkers and solved it by just packing the wine in our luggage - well cushioned of course. Probably a little tougher to pack beer but you might want to try. If you do, make sure that you put it all in plastic bags after cushioning it.

Other option would be to take a taxi and have it stop at a liquor store on the way in - more expensive way to get to the hotel but it would work.

I was also told the same thing "no alcohol". I did see a previous poster state that they had their order signed off by someone at the GCH. Call Vons and cancel the alcohol or take the chance! Good luck.

We are using Vons for our visit in May. We have large order, including a ton of booze. I understand bell services will not sign for it, but we will schedule a delivery time that we can be there for.
How does that work? Does bell services call your room and you go meet them? Are there any issues as long as we are there to accept it?
Also, what is an appropriate tip for the delivery person?

Thanx,
MG

I just got back from 7 days at the Portofino. We walked to Vons, it took about 25 minutes, spent $150 on our breakfast, lunch and alcohol for the week (and snacks), and cabbed it back. It's really not that far.

Another idea is to cancel the beer from the Vons order and then just walk to one of the gas stations near the park and get a 6-pack or two there.

I think we had a two hour window and you had to be there, they will not hold it for you while you get there, at least that is what I was told. If bell has a phone number they will call, but my question would be will the driver wait for you and bell won't sign? I would put in a call the the hotel and see what they say. The driver was gone prior to our arrival so we did not have a chance to tip.

Vons drivers are not supposed to accept tips, so don't worry on that front.
