Grand California security

Made my Grand california reservation todayekWonderin what teh new security is like going to the grand into downtown disney . I've heard that with all the new security most people are not expecting much waits but with the grand is it the same if all the guests are trying to go into downtown disney in the morning. Also any advice on logistics are some of the rooms INCONVENIANTLY located. I always liek to stay at the fantasy or adventure tower at the disneyland hotel. I am really looking forward to this stay hoping it will live to expectation.

While the security check area is small, it opens at 5 AM, so guests go through in smaller groups, and usually there is only a short back-up.

If you or anyone in your group has a mobility issue, make sure to request a room closer to an entrance. The last time we stayed there, our room was far, far away from the lobby and the entrances to DCA and to DtD. This wasn't such a big deal in the mornings when the energy levels were high, but later in the day when the kids were exhausted, it was a real problem. The grandparents had some issues with the long walk, too.
