has anyone done either of these activities? my dds are 3 & 6 and I have signed up for both, but am probably going to cancel one.
I'm leaning more towards the cooking class for several reasons,
1.) Pirates cruise is scheduled on MK ee day.
2.) It will probably be very hot & humid and possibly be rained out ( we're scheduled for 7/31)
3.) We live at the beach so our entire summer is filled with
water activities.

However, that being said it looks like so much fun. I will be alone with the girls, so that 2 hour break will be MUCH needed!! We will only be there for 5 nites (actually it is only 4 full days) so do you think both are too much? They will be back to back, thursday and friday. Any comments.

Thanks.

My DD has done the Pirate Cruise and although she really liked it, her only complaint was that it was hot (she went during the summer too). She's done the Alice In Wonderland Tea Party three times - she LOVES that one!!!

This October, she's trying the Grand Adventures in Cooking! I'm also considering letting her do the Tea Party again!

My kids (DD9 and DS6 at the time) absolutely loved the Grand Adventures in Cooking program! They decorated aprons, read a story (actually they let DD read the story since she was a bit older than the other kids), and made white chocolate mousse tarts. We were asked to meet them in the rotunda outside the Grand Floridian Cafe. We got there a few minutes early and waited. Shortly thereafter we see four chef-hatted kids and Chef Drew coming through the cafe. They were pushing a cart loaded with tarts and handing them out to the diners. They then proceeded to go around the GF lobby handing out their tarts to guests and CMs. My kids still talk about that day and how much fun they had.

THey have never done the pirate cruise, and probably won't. I think if I gave them the choice they'd do the cooking class again.

My girls absolutely love Chef Drew!!! They have gone the past 2 years and are looking forward to going again this summer!!

Chef Drew is FANTASTIC with the kids. He, himself, is a kid at heart!! He jokes, laughs and lets them jump all over him. The girls get so excited to hand out the snacks they made to all the people in the GF rotonda!!

Have those cameras ready so whent he kids stroll in with their painted aprons and chef hats just eager to give out their very own creations!!

Thanks for the great post. I have both girls (5) and (7) booked for both the Pirates Cruise and the Cooking Class. They both look like lots of fun.

Janet - thanks for posting the photo album that was great. And a great idea to give your daughter a camera (I will do the same.)

Thanks for all the replies. I have decided to forego the pirate cruise until our December trip. I just think in August it will be too hot. The grand adventures in cooking I'm sure will be great. The whole point of me booking these were to get a break from the parks, and I think the pirate cruise just won't work, so I also booked the Wonderland Tea Party.:) I am sure my girls will be thrilled to see Alice!

Janet2k Thanks so much for sharing your photos
