gran destino tower electrical hallway plugs for power scooters

have you ever actually rented one. If you have you know that manuvering to plug in inside a room is not as easy as it seems-and the plugs are never in the exact place you need them especially if you have to move furniture. for old people-thats us -having to do it every day of a 10 days trip gets old

We have rented my sister an ECV on a trip to WDW. Since then, we purchased her an EVC and used it for 8 days at AKL and on an 11 day CA/NV trip.

We have never had trouble parking the scooter in the rooms or finding plugs, but she has a long plug. It might take some maneuvering of the EVC to make it work, but we have no trouble doing so. I might have to put it in neutral to turn and back into a corner. I have never had to move furniture to do so.

I understand that some people may have to travel with lots of extra equipment that might make it more difficult to keep everything in the room. I just ask that they make sure to find the best spot that still allows others to pass by at least 2 a breast. At that spacing wheelchairs, EVCs, and strollers should be able to get by.

Please keep all your possessions in your room. If you expect to have more stuff than will fit in your room, then you either need a bigger room or need to work with the hotel to secure some other secure storage space.

we were told at okw that they were there for scooter recharge and told we could use them-just used them in bay tower in 2018 and never told otherwise
I am surprised anybody we advise a guest that outdoor outlets at a resort built almost 30 years ago are "there for scooter recharge." I would be leery of accepting such information from someone who likely has never either used a scooter, or left it outdoors overnight to charge.
have you ever actually rented one.
Yes. For the past 20-ish years. Yes, I'm old(er).
the size is not as important as where plugs are. your scooter charger cord is not super long. even at the 2 resorts i mentioned in 2017 and 2018 to use inside required some furniture moving
When I have stayed at OKW, it has been in a studio. The ECV can be charged in the outlet near the table without moving any furniture. I believe there is an outlet just inside the door.
The people on this board think they write the Disney rules and have the power to enforce them. Most of them do not like seeing the scooters in the hall, so it doesn’t matter that a cm told you too, they will never say it’s ok and will insist that the cm is wrong.
furniture
Well, that's an interesting assessment of responsible, concerned people who seasonings you do not know.

Disagree. The people on this board had common sense, and make suggestions based on that, along with experience.

I don't give a rat's patoot about seeing a mobility device in a hallway. I will note again that the CM likely has no experience using or being responsible for an ECV.
first floor 1 bedroom. since i bought OKW in 1993 for 56 dollars a point -you are correct. just outside door. Baylake tower was a hall.
I am even more surprised anyone would consider leaving an expensive piece of medical equipment outdoors for a number of consecutive hours.
If you have you know that manuvering to plug in inside a room is not as easy as it seems
You're right. It's not easy. It's even less easy when you travel alone. It's still doable.
and the plugs are never in the exact place you need them
You adapt. You don't personally have to move furniture, by the way. If you really can't reach a plug, maintenance will move/remove furniture for you. They have taken a bed apart for me. Just ask.
scooters come with a key
True.
nobody will take it
Not necessarily true. ECVs are not like automobiles. There are a limited number of key types. They are interchangeable. And someone bent on mischief can easily put one in freewheel more and just roll it away. I would think a power chair would have the same feature, so it can be moved by someone other than the user?
