A lot of people are saying that Taylor Swift is a good songwriter and I agree but shouldn't someone win for more than just songwriting and having a flat, weak voice? I don't mean to disrespect her since she seems like a nice lady but her constant winning of awards puzzles me big time.

I went to bed when Taylor was singing. Didn't think she sounded that good but I do like her. (Just not as much as Beyonnce.)

This is my take on why Taylor Swift won last night...

The Grammy membership was trying to make up for Kanye West's outburst at the VMAs. Pure & simple. IF he had just kept his mouth shut (yeah, RIGHT, Kanye never met a mike he didn't want to hog), I bet Taylor would not have won as much as she did.
It's nothing new, often the big entertainment awards get handed-out for all the wrong reasons, like Elizabeth Taylor's Oscar for "Butterfield 8". (Most observers would agree that it was a true sympathy award, the performance didn't deserve it, she got it because her husband Mike Todd has been killed that year in a plane crash.) These awards sometimes get handed out for sympathy and sometimes they get handed out for a body of work...all sorts of reasons that have little to do with the performance/album/whatever that is supposedly under consideration.

And after Taylor Swift's live ((shudder)) performance last night, I doubt that next year she'll win as much. Her albums and her songs might truly be worthy of nominations, but I think that "singing" last night is going to seal the deal with the performer/voters.

I'm sorry, I think she's a lovely girl and she seems very nice but in my opinion her vocals are simply too flat and weak unless she gets auto-tuned to the max in the editing-suite.

She was the main reason I didn't watch last night. Come on, the girl can't sing her way out of a paper bag and people still vote for her. I cannot WAIT till her 15 mins are OVER!

Her 15 minutes are nowhere NEAR over.... she puts out great albums.... just don't ask her to sing live........... Get nice and comfy- I think you'll be waiting a long time there Robin.

Did anyone think that Stevie Nicks looked uncomfortable and, frankly silly singing that teeny bopper song. I have no idea what it's called - it's catchy but the lyrics sounded ridiculous coming from a dignified adult woman. I felt bad for her.

I was annoyed with all the lip synchers (and yea, Pink was lip synching. Nifty little act but nobody can sing with any coherency doing that kind of nonsense). But then when we finally got a non-lip-syncher, Taylor, all I could think was that "SHE SHOULD be lip synching!"

And WTH with Jamie Foxx? Do they think we are so stupid to believe THAT is is real voice? It's insulting. Perhaps if he just pounded a pack of Pop Rocks. I was so happy to see Slash come in and add some musicianship to that whole mess...I coulda kissed him!

And think what you want about Bon Jovi. I love em, I don't think they are the most talented things on earth. But how refreshing to hear some real guitar with some real vocals that didn't totally and completely stink.

Highlight of the night came early for me...EJ and Lady Ga Ga. I have a new, elevated respect for her. I was watching those two together and I thought how perfect the matchup was. She is everything that EJ was back in the day!

Though I do agree Taylor Swift did not sound amazing last night, she is usually alot better. I believe it is her nerves. I've been to two of her concerts and have tickets to another in March. Her vocals are amazing at her concerts and she is really able to connect to every person in the room. The album of the year award was a good award for taylor. I mean really her album had most digital downloads of 2009! Thats amazing! She is not only a good singer but she is one of the only grounded artists out there. I love you taylor!! This is just my opinion.... no hater comment please...

I don't listen to Taylor's songs, my girls do and they like her a lot, I think her songs are cute and teenager type a songs, I have no problem with my kids listening to her music rather than Marilyn Manson. I think Lady Gaga or the black eye peas should had won that award but oh well, she won it for a reason.

And as far as Lady Gaga goes......... why can't she just sing? She has a good voice..... why the freaky outfits and make up? I get so distracted that I forget to listen...........

I actually didn't mind the red carpet dress.... the ginormous star and big bird yellow hair I could do without. But the make up tends to be bizarre... oh well, she too is crying all the way to the bank...........
