Graduation Splurge Ideas and DL Tours

Part one: DS is graduating next year and wants to go to DL instead of big grad party. What would be a great DL (we have been to WDW 6 times) splurge to "knock his socks off"? I am thinking the Fantasmic Seating. He is a huge Nightmare Before Christmas fan so we will go probably in the fall.

Part two: I just did a solo WDW trip and did Keys to Kingdom Tour. Now I am hooked on tours. Tell me about the tours offered at DL. What would you recommend for first time DL guest.

I think the Fantasmic dessert would be great!
As for tours, there's one called Welcome to Disneyland Tour that are more for ppl who've never been to DLR; my favorite, A Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour talks about the history of DL; and Cruzin' Disney's California Adventure Park lets you get on Segways & tour through DCA.

I'd recommend Walk in Walt's Footsteps. This tour gives you a view of Disneyland from Walt's perspective. Since you have been to WDW, Disneyland won't be totally unfamiliar to you. You wear earpieces & listen to the tour guide as well as snippets of speeches given by Walt himself. I really enjoyed this tour.

Since he's a NBC fan, be sure to eat at the French Market, because that's where all of special NBC meal items are (and be sure to get something in a Zero dog bowl [the actual food is in a separate bowl inside the dog bowl, so no need for cleaning before packing], which makes for an awesome and unique souvenir, imo).
