Graduate school GRE's Or MAT?

I took the GRE in December for an slp program I'm applying to. I'd originally planned to take it in November, but I ended up paying $50 to move it back so I could study. That was a waste of money, because I didn't get around to studying till the night before. I could have done much better on the math (got a 680, which was 67th percentile or so), but my verbal was pretty good (650 which was 94th percentile). If I don't get in this year, I'll hit the books to bring my math up. I'm thinking I could bring that score up quite a bit, and with a some vocab guides, I might be able to eke out a few more points on the verbal as well. One thing to consider is that the math is not very hard, so percentile wise, the scores go down rapidly for each problem missed. It would be very easy to study for the math because it's not even college level.

You do have to take the computer test in the US now. Wear the earphones so your neighbors don't annoy you. Also, see what scores your school requires. I didn't do the essay because it wasn't a requirement. I couldn't see how writing an essay could help me so I didn't bother. Same with the experimental test at the end (why give ETS free testing data?). Taking the test took me about an hour, but other people I know took almost two hours longer because they completed every single section.

wow, thanks for all the replies. I'm starting to feel better about it already. I do need to check w/the school & see what kind of score will be acceptable. Math is usually my weakness. I might actually do the essay since writing is a strong point for me. I guess I need to figure out how it's all counted.

The school I was applying for didn't have a minimum score listed-they said they evaluated it on a case by case basis. And I did have to do the essay. I just edited my previous post to add that info. If you didn't score high enough on the essay, you had to take a writing class.
