Grades/Years?

Where I live, if you are 14 and going to be 15 during the school year, you are typically a freshman (although there are always exceptions...summer birthday, late birthday. I also knew people who turned 15 their sophomore year, so it all depends). I turned 15 my freshman year, 16 my sophomore, etc.

My sister was turning 14 in 9th grade. She's 15 now, and in tenth grade.

14-year-olds are generally in 9th grade here.
