Grad Nights??

We just planned quick trip April 27th-May 2nd. Just found out there are going to be 2 grad nights the 28th and 29th while we are there. How do they work and how bad to they affect park attendence?

No effect on park attendance because it is a separate admission event...the MK will close early on these nights though.

We go the last week of April every year, and almost always run into Grad nights.
We find that a lot of people tend to go to parks other than MK on grad nights, even though there is really no effect on them.

So, other than the fact that it closes early, we find it a pretty good day to go Magic Kingdom.

As has been hinted, but not stated, the only park directly affected by Grad Nights will be the MK. MK will close at 7pm to the general public on grad nights. Those with the special event tickets will be allowed to enter and party until 5AM the next morning. The gereral attendance at MK during the day should not be greatly affected. Those staying at the resorts in the genaral area of the MK may be able to hear the party music all night, but it should not be lous enough to cause any serious sleep lose.

We're arriving on April 29 and plan to go to the Magic Kingdom.

I'm thinking that since there are no nighttime entertainment options (no Wishes or Spectro) plus the fact that the park closes early, it shouldn't be too crowded.

We have been to the parks during the day of Grad night and didn't really find it much different. They do close earlier so you might not get to do everything but it didn't seem that bad.

I'm not the OP but found this thread and wanted to say thanks. We originally planned on doing MK on the Thursday but now we have pirate tickets (thanks to a wonderful DIS member who posted that she was cancelling) and want to do an extra MK morning.... so we'll try this morning and then hop to Epcot from there instead of doing MGM and then trying to get to Epcot from there.
