How's the float coming along?

Well we're not building it! The float company will deliver it to the parade route tomorrow morning, fasten down the chairs and stands, and we just get on and ride!

I do have all the white dinner jackets for the subs labeled with their sizes on sticky notes and then pinned onto the lapels.

There us just a small pile of stuff left. Last week we brought the music, stands, and chairs to the float company. Yesterday we put one car at the beginning and one car at the end of the parade route. I will drop the jackets off in Arline's car at the beginning of the route after I show the apartment.

We still have to trade end of the route cars so that the big SUV is at the end. That way I can fit about seven people in my car to take them back to the beginning after the parade.

I have a few odds and ends to gather up, clothespins to hold down the music, put the water in the car Fran will use to drop me off. Our tuxes are cleaned and organized. Oh and Fran still has yo do something to my music (small rewrite). I play the clarinet like a weapon, but she is a master, so she writes my part without clarinet and incorporates it into her part.

Me too! At least I have dinner covered we bought enough "heat and eat" stuff at Sam's yesterday.

Well that was just food. We bought another $100+ in goods and renewed our membership + bought an inexpensive computer for Arline so it was more like a $700 visit overall, just $100 in food!

I should show this to DH. He always gives me a hard time for what I spend in there. The only time we ever spent over that was when my sister went with us an bought a tv. She gave me the money for it too, so WE'VE never spent that much.

I love fish and chips...don't get me wrong. I was just looking forward to steak tonight.

Looks like it might be on the cards for dinner tomorrow instead.

I think even seafood lovers would chose steak over fish and chips most of the time, so I get it. My Dad loves fish and chips and has chosen it over steak before.

Glad to see that you will be staying at the DLH. How much did you pay for the room? Why doesn't your DH like to stay at PP and also why you refuse to stay at the GCH? All three DLR hotels are expensive, but at least you can take advantage of staying onsite with MM that is reported for both parks this summer. Have you got your tickets after the price increased in a couple of days?

The standard room is $400 a night plus tax. I was not going to book it until the weekend, but the guy I talked to was smooth. He said I can cancel up to 5 days in advance and get a full refund of what I paid to reserve the room. They can also add any discount that comes up to the room as long as it is available for the room type I booked. I agree that the rooms are too expensive, which is why we've never stayed at any before despite our very many trips there.

An ex-co-worker of Crap's used to work for The Disney Hotel and says that PP is not worth staying at unless you get a good deal. At $305 a night, Crap thought it was a rip off. I refused to stay at GC, because it's $485 a night. We just paid $465 for four nights and $480 for three nights at the GF less than 6 months ago. I am not prepared to spend that much again so soon, because I do not want to go into debt to stay there. At least we got free dining for the $465-$480 too. It was the Disneyland Hotel or nothing, but we will have a very small (less than $100) souvenir budget if we do not get a good discount. Since PP was over $400 after taxes cheaper, we would have had almost $500. It is Connor's birthday trip too, so I really wanted to get an in room celebration. We do have our tickets already. My FIL and stepFIL were both in the military. They are going with us, so our 3 day hoppers were only $99.

Considering the price of our APs going up about $6500 we were a little shocked as well!

That is why I wish I read that before I put in our intent to join. Craziness.

well we got a few extra benefits included. Just think any new members get those same benefits for $35K. Besides we didn't want to NOT get the new benefits.

ANYONE coming to DLR PLEASE let us come with you on a VIP tour!!!!! We need to use them up. I Will find out if Fran needs to be present or not, hopefully not and we all can have a fun tour. It is limited to 10 or 9.

Yup. We'll never join. I did not even spend 35,000 (even though I had scholarships the whole way through) to get my degree. UNLV is cheap for locals or at least it was when I went.

Not sure what this is but we will be at that park on 06-23-12. If you will be around, that would be cool.

oh totally and we will get VIP seats for any shows for us, and get you into Walt's apartment too! We need to milk this for all we can get! I will never tire on apartment tours!

WOW. I did not know about those perks either. How awesome that you never tire of touring Walt's apartment? I've seen pictures on the Disney Parks Blog and am officially jealous. That's really cool.

Well, guys due to circumstances beyond our control we will not be going to vegas. Such is life.

On my PTR I posted a couple links to our concert videos.

The problem with the parade is that most all my friends are ON the float! I did post on FB that if any of my friends will be at the parade to take video of us and post it on my wall or send it to me, so we'll see!
