What kind of pastry?

Pasty...no "r". There's this pasty Shoppe around the corner from the hospital and medical building where we go for Fran's treatments. It's been there for years and we've never been in.

Basically it is a meat pie baked inside a crust. We got one chicken and one beef. They had potatoes and carrots too. We also got an apple filled one for dessert. For $6.90 it was a deal!

You never said why you needed to wait until Jan to start school. If its private you dont need to answer.

I defaulted on my old student loans. I have to make six months of on time payments before I can get financial aid again, and I can't afford this without aid. So the absolute earliest I'd be able to start would be November or December, since I haven't been able to send in a payment yet. I'm likely going to start in January because I don't think there's another start date before that.

I draw a very big line between pasta and noodles. There's no similarity in flavour and texture if you're distinguishing Asian noodle dishes and European pasta dishes.

My reason for suggesting was catbs with a different flavour if that's why he wanted noodles.

Anyway. Just had a beef burgundy meat pie. hit the spot that.

Really tired so I'll try find a small sugary treat that I fancy. Not in the mood for my traditional cupcakes.
Of course anything else will cost an arm and a leg but anyway. You do get good stuff in the city.

In the early days, when my family just migrated to Oz, Chinese grocery stores were a rarity. In order for us to have noodles, mum always cooked pasta and then fried them. Once you add soya and oyster sauce, there is little difference in taste and texture between pasta and egg noodles.

Of course, these days, there is a little bit more difference. But next time you fry egg noodles, 'wash' them in some boiling hot water first, drain and then check the taste.

It you're talking about the thick egg noodles then I rarely eat them. I distinctly avoid them.
Rice noodles - flat or thin. And thin noodles generally are my favoured noodles.

So. There IS a big difference between those noodles and a bowl of spaghetti.
Plus I try and always add some spiral pasta in. And I don't think the Chinese are known for using that pasta.
