I saw the dates during the trip and I was kind of sad that our trip is right after Destination D. Hope you have a great time at the WD Studio Tour in Burbank. I really would like to visit the WD Studios in Burbank. I was thinking of signing up on D23 to do the tour, but we can't go in September. I am hoping that they have good dates for next year. Also when I go back to SoCal, I want to visit the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum to see the D23 Presents Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives.

We saw the Archives at the Reagan Library and thought about doing that. It's only 75 minutes from our house, I used to teach flute lessons out there.

I hope we can go on the tour. Fran has more wounds that opened up since the surgery. I didn't go with her to the doctor today because we had some network specialists come to the house, I should have gone, and not dealt with these network guys. That could have waited.

I'll be prepared if you make a sudden announcement then.

Yeah! Good luck with that! And I'd wait a little, she could be a psycho!

Home early. I've come down with a cold, cough and am spluttering again.
Been sick for a week now. Had to take the last 4 days off work...which isn't good...but I've physically been unable to do the work even if I dragged myself in :sad1:
I never just get a cough and cold you trudge through...I add a migraine and sleepless nights :crazy2:
Think I'm finally coming out of it now...

My doctor was MOST unimpressed when I said I work somewhere people still go in with coughs and colds... :snooty:

Bugger about rushing out to get the new glasses Alison but at least you found your old ones. Can't prove it but I think my boss dumped a pile of paper on my glasses on my desk bending the arm  which is part plastic so I keep meaning to take it to the optometrist to see if they can just put a drop of glue to mend it. I LOOOOVE them...

That is neat that you not that too far away from the Reagan Library. I looked at the time to get to the library from Anaheim and it is about hour and a half. That is a long drive just to go to the library. I am going to ask my DA if she wants to see the library in November.

I hope Fran gets better.

I hope Fran, Princess and Queenie feel better soon.

This is my problem because of a couple things. One is DS has been a little sick and they send him home in a flash so he already misses a lot of days. The school is not like when I went where they could send a homework packet and be happy that you are doing the work on vacation. Plus since he splits the time with me and his Mom I'm avoiding being the one that takes him out of school for mulitple days and setting the precedent that she could too.

Was it open to the public?

I understand your predicament. When they are out a lot for sickness, it makes any trip seem like it's too much, especially if he could take a trip with each of you. It just stinks a little, because I would never leave them with anyone for an extended period of time. An anniversary trip does not make sense long away from the actual anniversary, and I really want to attend the Halloween party.

Both of my father-in-laws were in the military. We were sponsored onto the base by Crap's step-father. It was Connor's first time, and he loved it. Xander had seen the fireworks from there before but did not remember.

Hopefully your 10th anniversary goes really well. It is tough when a child is going to school and can have a few absences for a trip.

Even if Crap manages an extra week of vacation somehow (since he is only entitled to one week after a year and we are using that for Spring Break to cruise), I cannot justify pulling Xander from school. If we put him in public school for the first grade or if the school is nice enough to give me advance permission, it could happen. Reading the policy handbook did not look promising though. Once he starts full time school this August, I will try to get a feel for how strict they adhere to the manual. I am secretly keeping my fingers crossed. Luckily, I booked the Spring Break cruise as a backup vacation if he does not get time off school. At least, he will get to take one vacation next year.

I hope she is too. :rotfl:

You do have an option that I would consider but don't have. Skip Friday drive down for the evening party. I've though of leaving on a Thursday after school. But then I would need to stop somewhere near Salt Lake City and get up early. Probably be too whipped for the party on arrival night.

We didn't get fireworks this year. High fire danger and the forest service crew that watches and puts out the little spots fires are all out at big fires in Utah,Idaho, Wyoming and Colorado.

Sound like Down Under is all under the weather this Winter. Feel better soon, to enjoy the weekend.

Did Fran drive herself? That would be good news.

Skiboy - How was your recent trip? Any nice pictures from Yellowstone?

I was thinking about something. I rarely use a camera at places I go to a lot. I brought, carried it around, but didn't take more than a few shots that weren't great.

It was a nice trip. Saw 7 black bears. Before in a day had seen 3 at once or 2 seperate. This time 3 twice, sow and two cubs each, and another alone.

I did walk into the Lake Hotel which was nice, I haven't been in there in several years. All of the Yellowstone Hotels are doing upgrades over the next 5 years. Some room changes and little expansions.

The two swimming holes were closed due to high runoff. Dissapointing. It was super crowded but I know a lot of tricks to deal with that.

Sounds like a nice trip, despite the crowds.

So what tricks do you do with the crowds? Will any of it work for Disney crowds? ;)

By the sounds of things, wise move.

And from the look of what happened in San Diego, at least no one was disappointed by the lack of fireworks.

Yes and no. They both have crowd patterns. Don't eat lunch at noon. Show up early.

A good one is parking. During some weeks in Summer the parking overflows. Cars will notice cars parked on the access road and park right behind them. I just drive into the lot, because those people getting off the ride, I mean boardwalks, are getting back into those cars that are up close. There is always close spots opening up.

Well I would say a lot of people were upset. I've never not seen fireworks on the 4th until this year. The reasoning we got was not logical and it may of been a bunch of bull. I have a friend who is a fire fighter and isn't here but when he gets back I'm going to ask how much of his unit was here.

I would take a guess that that is correct...
DBF is an emergency worker and the about of lip service they get let alone what goes out to the public.... :rolleyes2

It's a shame. Glad you had a nice time with or without the pictures. :thumbsup2

Great tips!

The Capitol Fireworks this year were beautiful, I know a lot of places cancelled them here.

She drives everywhere so this is nothing new. I just usually go with her because it avoids misunderstandings and lack of information. She doesn't really ask enough questions to get the big picture.

You're right. If we do not go to WDW, we will take a three day weekend and drive to Disneyland in 2013. Crap would only need one day off work, so he should be able to get it.

Sorry about the fireworks. I have been praying for those areas. Hopefully, the areas with all the fires can get a lot of rain.

Good morning all! I'm back! how is everyone? And what have I missed?

Howdy stranger. We've missed you. Hope all is well with you.

Anything new?

Fran had another surgery. Queenie and Princess are sick. Dana started a new job a couple weeks ago. Matt just got back from vacation. Emma should be back from WDW around now. I do not recap as well as you, but I hope that covers all of the major news.

I was at Six Flags and I saw someone with a DVC beach bag. I was so excited to see it!
