My dd will be 5 when we take our first trip to WDW and we will be going to the BB Boutique to have makeovers, she is convinced that mommy should dress up in a gown too....has anyone else done this? If so, where did you find a "grown-up" disney gown? :)

Disney does not allow adults to dress up in costumes except for hard ticket events. Sorry.

According to the official Disney website, adults are not allowed to wear costumes in the theme parks. It doesn't mention anywhere else on the property is prohibited. So maybe it might be allowed?

Last trip, I watched the Epcot security guys turn away a grandmother dressed as Snow White, mother as Cinderella, and daughter as princess. I felt a little embarassed for them.

I saw a lady dressed as Cinderella turned away at Magic Kingdom. You could tell that she and her daughter had been to BBB, by their hairstyles and makeup.

Could you do the matching sun dresses from the Disney store? DD and I did this a few years back and we got lots of nice compliments from guests and CMs.

They don't allow adults in the theme parks dressed up (except during the parties).....for the obvious reason that other guests (in particular children) may mistake the guest for a "real" character. Not a good thing if the "character" gets rude to people or is doing some other such bad behavior.

Not sure about DTD.

Thanks for all of the replies and suggestions. I wonder if I could dress up for the pictures with her and then change? Has anyone done this?

Are you going to the BBB in DTD or at the castle? At DTD, you might be able to dress up with her and then change. But if you do BBB at the Castle and do the picture package, you have to walk all the way to the front of the park to take the pictures. So you wouldn't be able to do it there.

Okay, good to know. I had kind of planned to to it at the castle and then head to CRT for a meal. Perhaps I could dress up and we could take our own photos at BBB and then I could change before heading out? I think I've read that there is a Disney photographer usually around (we will be getting the photo pass) so maybe they could also take some photos?

There is a photopass photographer there to take pics if you don't want to do the formal "photo package"

Also, are you going during MNSSHP time? Maybe you could get a BBB appointment to coincide with that and you COULD actually wear the costume.

Thanks! I'm pretty new and still learning the abbreviations, what is MNSSHP? We are going Nov. 29-Dec.7 of this year.
