Governor's Inn Williamsburg

We stayed for 30 minutes at the Governor's Inn in Williamsburg. It was horrible. After walking up broken steps littered with cigarette butts and walking into a room with "Mary Loves JOE" carved on the wall, we smelled the smell of a backed up toilet. It was gross. The toilet kept running so we got our room changed.Apparently Mary and Joe were not in this room but the toilet did not work. Two in a row? I will say that they were very accomodating and put us up in the Woodlands for the night and if people complained, and were there for more than one night they would up grade them to the Woodlands but all I can say is do not stay at the GI it is horrible, just book the Woodlands to begin with.

I've stayed at Williamsburg a couple of times and I've never been overly impressed with many of the hotels in the area.Only one time did I feel satisfied with the hotel,love the area but they need a better variety of nicer,newer hotels.I haven't gone for 5 years or so so maybe things have changed since then.

Totally agree. We love Williamsburg, but there are not many nice hotels. Even the timeshares aren't the best. The GI is terrible and Woodlands was just OK. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn and it was nicer than Woodlands.
