I just went online to check baggage information for our flight this weekend and noticed our airfare had gone down (BOS to MCO)! I called JetBlue and they are crediting my account $185 which can be used on a future flight. I am so excited because I have already paid for the tickets!!! I guess we will be using JetBlue again in the very near future!!! Annmarie :bounce:

No, not that I'm aware. I called and said I noticed the online price had dropped and wondered if they had a price guarantee. The woman asked if it was just one way or the R/T that dropped and I said both. She asked me to hold for a minute and came back to say I would get a JetBlue credit for future travel. Even if they did charge a fee (which I don't think they did but I'll check) I'm still getting $185 towards a future trip. Annmarie

Same thing happened to me for my August trip (first trip using Jetblue!).

I booked it as soon as Jetblue started flying out of Boston in January and then about 2 days later the price went down $45 total for the 3 of us. I called and asked for a credit and she said 'sure" and gave me my credit toward a future trip that must be used within 15 months. She was very friendly and helpful!

I've already applied it to my Oct/Nov trip!!!:teeth: and that was so easy too. As you are about to pay, the website asks if you want to apply the credit to the flights. So easy.

It's not just jetBlue. In the past few months, I noticed that fares had decreased on an upcoming United flight and an upcoming American flight. In both cases, I was already ticketed with advance-purchase, nonrefundable tickets.

I called both airlines. They both did a "roll-over" -- which means they reticketed me at the lower fare and mailed vouchers to me for the fare difference. There was no fee in either case. The vouchers expire in 12 months. You can ticket up to 330 days out. So, effectively, the vouchers can be applied toward travel up to 23 months in the future.

To do a roll-over, the lower fare has to be available on the exact same flights on which you are currently ticketed.

The airline will not contact you if the fare has gone down. It's up to you to contact the airline.

As far as I know, all major airlines in the U.S. offer roll-overs.

Yes, I believe most do but they may handle it differently. Some give a REFUND like Southwest. Some do vouchers. Some do a credit.

Also, the voucher or credit can be good for different lengths of time depending on the airline. Jetblue for me anyway was 15 months.

Just be aware when you got the credit on Jet Blue, she may have changed your seat assignments. We got credit for a trip we took and quite by accident found out when we requested a credit, they re-booked the entire trip and changed our seats.
And that credit ended up costing me a lot of money cause we just HAD to take another trip!!

We just flew Jetblue this past weekend. The price dropped twice and I was issued a credit twice - no fee. Keep watching your fares, they may go down again;)

Thanks for this information. I'm going to call them when I get home to make sure this didn't happen! We had 3 different reservations with this trip and I was the one coordinating seating arrangements for all 6 of us. I'd hate to think this was messed up!!! It took a bit of work to get it straight. My rates are low for our trip on Friday, however, I did hear on the news that the airfare rates are going to be rising soon.

I called JetBlue last night and the woman was very nice. She said she noticed 3 reservations linked together and that the seating assignments had not changed! Thank goodness. Annmarie
