Aww, that's adorable! I always liked the classic goth esthetic (the clothing, though I do like the architecture as well) I could never get into it. It's for too much a high maintenance apparel and style for me. I tended to drift over to the lighter punk styles, then steampunk. Heck, I'm still a steampunk girly at heart. Though I'm a bit of a weirdo and any steampunk thing I make has to actually work... so I don't have a whole lot.

But I had a SERIOUS "goth" best friend in high school.

Boy, does this take me back. DS23 went through a Goth period exactly as you describe, except with blue hair. He wore only clothes from Hot Topic and made himself a pair of "Duck" Martins and matching belt. The only thing he didn't do was wear guyliner and nail polish. He grew his hair out real long--the funny thing is, he has thick, puffy Greek hair. So he looked more like a dandelion puffball, than a scary Goth guy.
