GOTG VQ and Single Pass Question

Hello, I have not been to WDW since before the pandemic and have not had the pleasure of experiencing Genie +(Multi Pass) or VQ. The day we are planning on going to EPCOT we have an event earlier in the day and will not be able to make it there until after 4pm. If I join a VQ will I be able to ride GOTG after 4pm? Or, do I have to purchase a Single pass and if so, am I able to pick a time that will work for us? Thanks for any info!

Individual Lightning Lanes allow you to select a time - if you are staying on site you can make your selection 7 days before your check in date, which will give you the best chance of getting a time that works best for you. If you're staying off site you can make your selection 3 days before your trip starts, you may still get lucky!
Virtual Queues vary wildly, you are assigned a boarding group then get a notification when your boarding group can ride and you have 1 hour to do so. You might get lucky and have it right in the window when you're arriving at the park, but you could also get called hours before.
